We had a fantastic morning at Octoberʼs Women’s Collective Coffee + Conversations at Middlebrook Mercantile! Together, we celebrated the birthdays of all the women who attended. A huge thank you to Aubrey from Midwest Meets Design and Amanda from Hudddle for making this event so special.
During our time together we worked on planning the 2025 program for the Womenʼs Collective. The chamber is proud to continue to host this event monthly next year. We canʼt wait to announce the program calendar for 2025. All women are welcome to attend and you do not have to be a chamber member to join us monthly. |

We had a really FUN membership lunch at the City State Bank Fieldhouse where the Parks & Rec team hosted a tour of the facility and we all enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Winnʼs Pizza & Steakhouse. It is an impressive building and we are so lucky to have these amenities in Norwalk for the whole community and surrounding areas to enjoy.

On behalf of the Warren County Conservation Board, I am happy to invite you to join the WCCB and staff to celebrate our 50th anniversary! This milestone marks half a century of dedicated service to preserving Warren County’s natural resources, enhancing outdoor recreation opportunities, and fostering environmental education in our local community.
To honor this significant achievement, we are hosting a special anniversary celebration: Date: November 14th, 2024 Time: 5:00-7:00pm
Location: Annett Nature Center, 15565 118th Avenue, Indianola, Iowa, 50125
Over the past 50 years, our department’s services have brought great value to our local communities. To continue this excellence, we also depend on invaluable support and collaboration with partners and the public. This anniversary event will be an opportunity to meet our staff, learn about our shared accomplishments, showcase the work we do, and highlight the importance of continuing our conservation legacy into the future.
The ANC will be open to the public to explore and visit with WCCB staff. Our staff will have display booths for education, administration, and field operations. A food truck (General Lee’s Smoke Shack) will be staged outside for all attendees to buy food from. Fiscal Year 2025 is halfway through, but there is new focus on what we have recently accomplished and what is on the horizon. Please stop by - we would love to hear about your memories and experiences while exploring Warren County Conservation areas or programs!
Feel free to invite your colleagues, friends, and family. RSVP to zachh@warrencountyia.org. Our team hopes that you can join us in commemorating this important milestone and in celebrating all that we have achieved together, as a community, for our community. Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to conservation with a positive land ethic. I hope you have a great fall season. DON’T FORGET, get outside to hunt, hike, bike, and explore wonderful, Warren County! |

Professional Book of the Month Directional living: a transformational guide to fulfillment in work and life by Megan Hellerer
This career guide is based on the premise that a fulfilling, purpose-filled career and life is build by following your inner sense of direction, not by pursuing a fixed destination. This book is available at the Norwalk Easter Public Library. Leisure Book of the Month The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl
When her estranged mother dies, Stella is left with an unusual inheritance: a one-way plane ticket and a note reading “Go to Paris.” Stella is hardly cut out for adventure; a traumatic childhood (trigger warning: child abuse) has kept her confined to the strict routines of her comfort zone. But when her boss encourages her to take time off, Stella resigns herself to honoring her mother’s last wishes. And the adventures in Paris are delicious and mouthwatering! This book is available at the Norwalk Easter Public Library. It is also available in ebook and e-audiobook formats using the free Libby app and your library card. |
