78 years!!!  Phew, that's a long time!

We're coming up fast on this year's Fair Parade on Saturday, July 26th.  If you would like to enter the parade, entry forms are available on our website at https://www.quincychamber.com/parade.

If you would like to help with the parade itself, please give us a call at (530) 394-0541 or send us an email at info@quincychamber.com.

We need help with traffic control in the staging area and we need some volunteer judges.  Judges would be done before the parade starts, so you would have time to join your family and friends to watch the parade.

Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Are Now in Place

The Plumas National Forest is entering Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on Thursday, July 10, based on increased fire danger rating and fire behavior indices, combined with drying fuels.

Despite average snowpack, early season hot temperatures melted snowpack faster than expected. Periods of hotter than average temperatures are forecasted to continue in the area, further drying fuels and increasing fire danger.

In In Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, the following rules apply:

  • Campfires are only allowed in specific designated recreation sites, in established campfire rings. Sites are listed in Exhibit A of the closure order.
  • Smoking is only allowed within an enclosed vehicle or building, in one of the designated recreation sites listed in Exhibit A, or an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is completely clear of all flammable material.
  • Additionally, internal combustion engines, such as vehicles and generators, may only be used on designated roads and trails.

Season Tickets on Sale Now!

Do you have your season tickets yet for this exciting lineup of shows?! The West End Theatre takes on a record breaking 6 shows in the 2025-2026 season, and we cannot wait to welcome you

We begin with the clever and fast-paced Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson Apt. 2B, a sharp, contemporary twist on a classic partnership that celebrates friendship, brilliance, and bold reinvention.

Next, Bonnie & Clyde brings a powerful score and a poignant narrative about two souls searching for meaning and legacy — a reminder that even flawed stories can be filled with heart.

Then, Tennessee Williams' timeless classic The Glass Menagerie invites us to look inward through memory, fragility, and the dreams we chase — or leave behind. It’s a cornerstone of American theatre, and we’re honored to bring it to life on our stage.

As the holidays approach, Miracle on 34th Street reminds us of the magic that lives in believing — in goodness, in each other, and in something just beyond what we can see. It’s a story of hope, perfect for the season of togetherness.

In the spring, we lighten the stage with the joyful chaos of Lend Me a Tenor, where mistaken identities and theatrical mayhem prove that laughter is often the best cure for everything life throws at us.

Finally, we close our season with the bright, bold, and irresistibly fun Legally Blonde. More than just a feel-good musical, this story reminds us that strength comes in many forms — sometimes dressed in pink and armed with determination. It’s the perfect finale to a season rooted in hope, and a reminder that believing in yourself is always in style.

Final CalSavers Deadline December 31, 2025

Each spring, employer mandate status is assessed based on quarterly employee data that employers submit to the Employment Development Department (EDD) from the preceding year*. A registration deadline of December 31 is then applied to newly-mandated employers. (e.g. newly-established businesses or employers who recently employed more than one employees). Employers will receive their official registration information by US mail and/or e-mail in the Spring of that year.

In 2022, California passed legislation (SB-1126) to expand the CalSavers mandate to employers with at least one employee. Eligible employers with 1-4 employees are required to register or exempt by December 31, 2025. Employers with 1-4 employees will start receiving early notification starting in February 2025.

If your deadline was:

September 30, 2020
June 30, 2021
December 31, 2022
December 31, 2023
December 31, 2024

Compliance enforcement is underway.

Register your company today.

If your deadline is:

December 31, 2025

Registration materials will be sent soon.

Register your company today.

Not sure of your deadline? Check your notice or contact us at: clientservices@calsavers.com  or (855) 650 - 6916.

Employers who do not fulfill their responsibilities by the specified deadline dates are subject to enforcement action, which will include financial penalties.

*Employer eligibility and mandate status is based on an employer’s average number of employees from the previous year. This number is calculated by averaging the number of employees reported to EDD on an employer’s four DE9/DE9C filings from the prior calendar year.

Thank You from Plumas Corp

On June 25th Plumas Corp posted a series of photos tracking the progression of a project through construction, using the Thompson Meadow Restoration Project. It is every bit as important to understand the level of participation and collaboration involved in getting any project to fruition.

On July 8th, a subset of Thompson Meadow partners visited the project to observe the change, view the science and strategize next steps, CA Dept. of Water Resources, Plumas National Forest, Plumas Corp, Sierra Nevada Conservancy and the State Water Contractors. Other partners not present were the CA Wildlife Conservation Board, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Bass Pro Shop/Cabelas, Point Blue Conservation Science, and local public land stakeholders.

Plumas Corp thanks all those who engage in natural resource projects, here and throughout the region. The work does not happen without you!!
