FRC will be hosting its annual Fish Hatchery Fundraiser on Saturday, October 4th from 10:00am – 5:00pm. The event costs $10 to participate in, with all proceeds benefiting the fish hatchery located on the FRC campus. There is no license needed for this fundraiser and participants can bring their own pole or borrow one from the hatchery. There will also be an opportunity for hatchery tours, along with fundraiser items for purchase.

The Feather River College fish hatchery was conceived in 1982 by Jay Wright, to provide practical hands-on experience in fisheries. Students learn fishery and hatchery techniques by gaining experience in tasks necessary to run an aquaculture facility. The hatchery is capable of raising trout from egg to trophy size, as well as raising a variety of aquarium fishes. The trout from the hatchery, both adults and fingerlings, are stocked in local ponds and lakes to help support the local ecosystems in Plumas County.

The hatchery raises funds through the sale of the fish produced on site throughout the year. However, the hatchery is always improving the facility and upgrading outdated equipment, which requires fundraiser events like this one to help raise funds to keep the hatchery in operation.

This is a great family-friendly event and an opportunity to help assist our fish hatchery operations. We hope you can join!

Lost Sierra Food Project will be fundraising for their farm education, food access, and workforce development programs. They’d like to give a big shout out to all the small businesses and organizations who will be showing up that day!

First, off a big thanks to their favorite bluegrass bunch Fish Tacos for providing great live music yet again.

They are also excited to announce that High Sierra Sheep Company, who raise their grass-fed sheep in Greenville, will have their delicious food for sale again this year.

Plus booths from both Plumas County Public Health and First Five will be there distributing information about their resources for the public.

A big shout out to Quircus for coming out to paint faces! And to the Quincy Toy Store for hooking them up with fun fall ice cream. Thanks also to Lynn Dow for providing fresh pumpkin bread.

Last (but not least) a BIG thank you to Quintopia Brewing Co and Lost Sierra Wine Co. for donating your delicious beverages, with 100% of your proceeds generously benefitting their organization. Their favorite mocktails from Inner Light Integrative Health & Botanicals will also be for sale!

Thank You!

The Builders For Builders Fundraiser is closed! Sending a HUGE thank you to all 776 of you who donated for a chance to win a one-off custom handcrafted bike from one of six amazing builders. Together we raised more than $27,000 to support our work to develop and build trails in the Lost Sierra.

These funds are critical to SBTS' operations and we're so grateful for the support. We'll draw the winner at random this week and notify the winner via phone or email, then announce it to the world, so if you donated, don't go far!

Thank you again for the awesome builders participating in this year's fundraiser: Prandus, Significant Other, Stinner Frameworks, Sycip Designs, Retrotec and Mosaic Cycles. Stay tuned!
