Meet our employees!

Jake Williams (top) has been with The Quincy Hub since its inception as an employee of the Indian Valley Innovation Hub. Jake will be managing The Quincy Hub and all of our Chamber events and programs going forward, including an exciting new Digital Optimization Program we'll be rolling out soon!

Jeff Titcomb (bottom) has also been an active member of The Quincy Hub family for a while; not only as an employee and a volunteer, but also as a product maker! Jeff brings years of experience from the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce and is an avid supporter of all things Plumas County.

Stop by and say hi to these incredible gentlemen today!

THANK YOU to Matt Haesche and Logan Haesche for their tireless efforts to keep our flower baskets well-watered and looking beautiful this season, and for taking them all down to be tucked away for the winter.

This winter, many of our baskets need to be repaired after years of harsh sunlight. If you would like to help us with the cost of the care and repair of the flower baskets, donation forms are up and available on our website at https://www.quincychamber.com/flower-baskets.

Closed for the Season

It’s a wrap! After our last school field trips and the farm glean last week, Rugged Roots is officially closed for the season. It’s always a little sad to clear out the pumpkin patch and take down the tomato trellises. But we’ll be back in early spring with big hopes and dreams. Stay tuned for winter updates as we plan, fundraise, and work with community partners to bolster the regional food system for all people.

Caribou Road Closed During Work Hours for

PG&E Power Line Undergrounding

PG&E is undergrounding power lines along Caribou Road in Plumas County to help mitigate the risk of wildfires.

A portion of Caribou Road is closed during work hours but reopens at night and all-day Sunday and on major holidays through November 21, weather permitting. Work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

Caribou Road is from the U.S. Forest Service’s Queen Lilly Campground to about 4.5 miles to the Belden Reservoir.  Emergency vehicles will be allowed through.

To detour around the closure, motorists are advised to take Highway 70 east to Highway 89 north to Prattville-Butt Reservoir Road.

PG&E has identified its undergrounding effort as the largest ever by a utility to reduce wildfire risk. In the locations where those lines provide electricity to customers, undergrounding eliminates nearly all wildfire risk involving power lines.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Brings Recognition to Plumas Housing Council

Chester, CA 10-21-25 . . . A ribbon cutting ceremony, held on September 24th for first completed house through Welcome Home Greenville (WHG), brought recognition to the Plumas Housing Council, an outcome of the innovative community-financed housing project initiative launched by The Almanor Foundation (TAF) in 2023.

Attending the opening was Senator Megan Dahle's representative, Breyden Como, who presented an award of acknowledgement to the Plumas Housing Council (PHC) for their efforts and dedication to rebuild. The council, comprised of like-minded companies and individuals, was formed to advise and oversee the ongoing initiative with TAF, as the initial funder, taking a seat on the council. “TAF is not a developer, so it was essential in order to continue the initiative we founded, to have the experience and expertise in financing and building to oversee and implement the model for on-going attainable work-force housing,” says Josh Huddleston TAF board member and representative on the council.

The initiative, funded by the Wildfire Relief Fund, began by contracting LMNOP, a firm specializing branded environments.
Founder, Tyler Pew, an Indian Valley resident, and his team spent three years doing extensive research, sourcing and development necessary to create a model that would work in a rural
area where Federal and State disaster grants for new single-family homes are not available to small for-profit developers; and the high degree of investment risk in rural communities like
Greenville makes securing affordable development capital almost impossible.

“This initiative has taken TAF on quite the journey with more challenges than anticipated,” says susan Bryner, Cahir of TAF. “We are proud that we were able to take our first initiative to fruition, hand it off to experts who are able to sustain it and now we can move onto other needs of our community,” Bryner adds.

Buzzard's Roost Trail Getting a Boost

SBTS’ ongoing Buzzard's Roost Ridge Trail restoration project is getting a vital boost from the 2025 All Trails Stewards Fund as part of its 1% For the Planet 2025 Charitable Contributions.

Through the fund, SBTS received $9,310 to install new signage and perform finish work to enhance safety and reopen this unique and scenic route to the public.

The comprehensive finish work includes refining the trail surface, installing drainage structures and clearing any downed trees or overgrown vegetation in the trail corridor.

The historic trail is located on the Feather River District of the Plumas National Forest that runs from Onion Valley down to where Quincy LaPorte Road crosses Nelson Creek.

The 6.3-mile trail tops out at 7,200 feet in a beautiful, remote zone with panoramic views of the Sierra Buttes and Mount Lassen—it’s going to be an awesome re-addition to the trail network.

Thanks to AllTrails for supporting this work!
