Get ready for a day of fun and local flair as the Groundhog Fever Festival returns to the Plumas County Courthouse in Quincy on Saturday, February 7th, 2026! This year’s event promises something for everyone, so mark your calendars.

 

This year, the Plumas Audubon Society will be hosting the Mayoral Election fundraiser, so don’t forget to cast your ballot and support a great cause. Enjoy a Beer Tasting featuring pours from Quintopia and Brewing Lair.

Whether you’re a chili master, a creative vendor, or have a great idea for a kid’s activity, we want you there!

🐾 Cast Your Vote: Honorary Mayor Fundraiser

 

The race is on! This year’s Honorary Mayoral Election is officially underway, hosted by and benefiting the Plumas Audubon Society.

 

To cast your vote, simply drop a donation into the specific candidate’s Ballot Jar located at The Quincy Hub and other spots around town. Every dollar is a vote for your favorite pooch and a direct donation to local conservation efforts.

 

Community Spotlight: Support QHS Baseball’s 2026 Season

 

Following a successful 2025 season, the Quincy High School Baseball team is gearing up for Spring 2026 and seeking community partners to help them grow.

 

How to Support the Trojans:

  • Become a Sponsor (Team Builder): Businesses can purchase advertising signs to be displayed at the field. Sponsorship levels range from Bronze ($300) to Platinum ($1200), with options to support single or multiple sports venues.
  • Direct Donations: Cash or checks are accepted. Please make checks payable to Quincy High Boosters with “Baseball” in the memo line.
  • Raffle Contributions: The team is collecting items for a raffle during a home game.

Local Job Opportunities: Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship

 

Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is now hiring for the 2026 season, seeking dedicated individuals to join their team in Quincy and Downieville. They are offering seasonal full-time and variable-hour positions for trail maintenance and bike shop operations.

 

Open Positions:

  • Trail Crew Member (Quincy & Downieville): Seasonal Full-Time (40 hrs/wk). Contract runs March 30 – Oct 31, 2026. Pay: $20.00 – $25.00/hr DOE.
  • Shuttle Driver (Quincy): Seasonal Full-Time (40 hrs/wk). Contract runs May 15 – Oct 31, 2026. Pay: $20.00 – $25.00/hr DOE.
  • Bike Tech (Quincy): Available as Seasonal Full-Time (40 hrs/wk) or Variable Hour (0-40 hrs/wk). Contract runs May 15 – Oct 31, 2026. Pay: $20.00 – $30.00/hr DOE.
