Member Update: Growing the Team at Plumas District Hospital |
|
|
| Plumas District Hospital has had a busy start to the year, welcoming several new faces to their team to better serve our community. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Juan C. Martinez, DPM, a new Podiatrist specializing in foot and ankle care. Dr. Martinez brings both clinical expertise and a deep appreciation for rural healthcare to the hospital.
The team has also expanded with the addition of Lisa Morales (Clinical Program Consultant), Heather Wells (SNF Registered Nurse), and Megan Harper (RHC Care Coordinator).
In exciting news for patient wellness, PDH has introduced Pet-Assisted Therapy in the Rural Health Clinic. “Wonder,” a behavioral health support dog, began seeing patients in January. Wonder provides a calm, comforting presence during clinic visits, helping reduce stress and improve emotional well-being. |

Member Spotlight: Laughter is in the Air at West End Theatre |
|
|
Looking for the perfect Valentine’s date night or a fun evening out with friends? West End Theatre is bringing high-stakes hilarity to the stage with their production of Ken Ludwig’s classic farce, “Lend Me a Tenor”.
Set in a 1934 hotel suite, this “sidesplitting” comedy follows the chaotic events surrounding the Cleveland Grand Opera Company’s biggest night. Expect a whirlwind of: - Mistaken Identities: A frantic series of miscommunications involving two “Otellos” and jealous lovers.
-
Physical Comedy: Perfectly timed absurdity and frantic costume changes.
- Uproarious Fun: A delightful masterclass in farce that guarantees nonstop laughter.
Catch a Performance: - Evening Shows: February 12–14 and 19–21 at 7:00 PM.
- Matinees: February 15 and 22 at 2:00 PM.
- Tickets: Range from $20 to $30.
Support local community theatre and enjoy an evening where the line between disaster and triumph is hilariously thin!

Project Update: Welcome Home Greenville |
|
|
The Almanor Foundation is excited to announce that the site at 305 Bush Street is fully prepped for the second Welcome Home Greenville (WHG) home. The foundation is complete, and the home, built by RRA Builders, is expected to arrive within a week. Completion and occupancy are anticipated within 60 days. Building Skills & Community This project also serves as a hands-on classroom for Adin Lunder, an Indian Valley Academy senior. Adin is facilitating the construction as part of his senior project, learning the entire development process—from financing to final inspection—alongside project contractors. As Almanor Foundation CEO Susan Bryner notes, this partnership demonstrates that “when a community works together with a like-minded goal, the results are amazing”. |
