The team at SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium® is in search of fresh blood this summer, and they’re hoping Mommy Shark, Daddy Shark and more will heed the call.
Blood donations typically dip dramatically during the summertime, leaving hospitals and patients in desperate need of donors. This year, as the Discovery Channel preps for the 31st installment of its iconic “Shark Week” summer TV lineup, SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium is plotting its own month-long “JAWSome July” celebration, joining forces with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive during the month of special programming.
Anyone who stops by SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium Sunday, July 21 to donate blood at the tables set up just outside will receive one complimentary pass to the aquarium. Donors can use the passes to check out Shark Week interactive exhibits, special artifacts and the 20 sharks from a variety of species who currently call the aquarium home. Rumor has it, the aquarium mascot “Sharky” will also be on-hand to interact with guests. With bamboo reef sharks, zebra sharks, shark-themed activities and more in store for visitors, there’ll be plenty for shark fans to chew on this summer at SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium.
