Our keynote speaker is Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services (AARS), a longtime Mat-Su organization dedicated to helping Alaskans overcome substance use disorders. For more than 40 years, AARS has provided residential treatment, counseling, and life-skills training in a supportive environment focused on recovery, dignity, and rebuilding lives. Located right here in the Valley, their work makes a lasting impact on individuals, families, and our community.
We’ll also hear from our 5-minute spotlight speaker, Paws for Purple Hearts, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and service members through therapeutic programs and service dogs.
Lunch will be catered by Turkey Red, offering a delicious, locally loved dining experience.

The Mat-Su College Robotics Club is hosting the Mat-Su College Sumo Robotics Competition, which will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Glenn Massay Theater. The competition welcomes all high school and college students, who may enter individually or as part of a team. Participation is free, and winners will be awarded a three-credit tuition waiver at Mat-Su College. The Robotics Competition will follow international Sumo Robotics rules. Each robot will be autonomous and not require direct human intervention. The rounds will be three minutes and are won by one robot pushing the other robot out of the sumo ring. more info...
