Stronghold Food Pantry is hosting our first Volunteer Onboarding & Training of 2026 at our Fort Leavenworth location — and we would love to welcome you into the mission!

📍 Armed Forces Insurance Building
📍 655 Biddle Blvd Fort Leavenworth, KS
🗓 Sunday, February 22, 2026
⏰ 1:30–2:30 PM

If you have been looking for a meaningful way to serve military families in our community, this is your moment.
At Stronghold, we believe in serving with dignity, excellence, and compassion — and that starts with equipping our volunteers well!
All individuals wishing to volunteer their time, talents, and skills must attend a Volunteer Onboarding session and complete a volunteer onboarding packet. *This includes youth volunteers.

✨ Please note: Volunteer onboarding is offered on a quarterly schedule. The next session will not take place until May 17, 2026 | 1:30–2:30 PM.

We don’t just fill volunteer spots — we build a team. A team that stands in the gap for military families navigating food insecurity and life transitions.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get involved…this is it!
We can’t wait to welcome you.
Stronger together.

The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive, and we encourage everyone who is able, to participate. Every blood donation has the power to save lives, making your contribution an incredibly meaningful gift to those in need. Whether it’s a patient undergoing surgery, a cancer treatment, or an emergency — your donation makes a real and lasting difference for individuals and families in our community and beyond. Rolling up your sleeve takes just a little of your time, but for someone else, it could mean everything.

Please consider donating — your generosity saves lives!

Those who come to give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma May 18th will get an oversized Red Cross beach towel, while supplies last.

Please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: Basehor to schedule an appointment.

You are invited to a Distinguished Speaker Series dinner event on May 20, 2026, in the atrium of the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth, Kansas (100 Stimson Ave.). A reception begins at 5:30 p.m., the buffet dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $35/person in advance or $40/person at the door.

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of our United States, this edition of the Distinguished Speaker Series features a presentation on civic duty by Jason J. Galui, director of the Endicott Center for Civic Participation. On Sept. 17, 1787, delegates in Philadelphia signed an ambitious document creating the framework for realizing the self-evident truths stated in the Declaration of Independence. For more than 238 years, the Constitution of the United States has been vigorously supported, challenged, and defended by generations of Americans. If “We the People” are committed to securing the “blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity,” then each of us has essential duties and obligations to perform – as individuals and as a collective – in order to form a more perfect union.

NOTE: Guests without military ID or CAC card must also pre-register to access Fort Leavenworth using the Visitor Registration Portal no more than 10 days and no less than 24 hours before the event - https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selection.

Military & Veteran women- We’re coming together for a time of connection, personal & professional growth, and meaningful community service.

Women Veterans Engage at VFW Post 56

If you’re a woman veteran or currently serving, this event was created with you in mind.

Women Veterans Engage is a one-day personal and professional development conference designed to bring women who have served together for meaningful connection, practical growth, and renewed purpose. Throughout the day, you’ll hear from speakers, engage in conversations that matter, and explore ways to strengthen both your personal life and your professional path.

This isn’t just about networking, it’s about community. It’s about being seen, heard, and supported by women who understand your journey. Together, we’ll also look at how we can continue serving; not just in uniform, but in our families, workplaces, and communities.

Join us at VFW Post 56 as we build something intentional, empowering, and lasting!

MAC Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

The goal of Operation Santa Fe, as with all MARS events, is to create an immersive and authentic environment, which seeks to replicate the life of the average infantryman within a company vs company engagement. We accomplish this using airsoft as a medium of combat, establishing correct chains of command, realistic issuance of combat orders, and controlled distribution of munitions and rations.

Operation Santa Fe is set in the III Corps Tactical Zone in November, 1967. Units represented include:
> U.S. Army's 4-39th, 9th Infantry Division
> Australian Army's 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment
> Army of the Republic of Vietnam, 18th Infantry Division
- vs -
> Peoples Liberation Armed Forces, 274th Main Force Regiment, 5th Viet Cong Division
> D445 Provisional Mobile Battalion, Regional Force Viet Cong

The event is nonstop from the moment it begins. There are high authenticity regulations in place, as well as specific units that are portrayed at the event. More information can be found on the website about these impressions along with their authenticity guidelines.

Authentic rations and the ammunition will be supplied by MARS for Operation Santa Fe.

The goal of the Leavenworth-Lansing Area Chamber's Military Affairs Council (MAC) is to advance the pro-business climate in the area through military affairs initiatives, and to maintain and enhance the business community's relationship with Fort Leavenworth.

The Military Affairs Council works to grow and sustain not only Fort Leavenworth, but other Department of Defense operations in the area.  The MAC functions as a liaison between the local military and business communities, implementing programs which provide greater interaction between Chamber members and DOD/military personnel.  The MAC hosts various events throughout the year that help to further our community relationships and honor military service.

MAC Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

Military Affairs Council Meetings are open only to members of the Chamber of Commerce (or representatives thereof) as well as any members of military leadership.

✨ What to Bring:
• Yoga mat
• Water bottle
• Towel (optional)
• A friend — or just your beautiful self

💛 Please Note:
This is a mat-based class and is not currently chair-yoga accessible. I share this with care so you can choose what best supports your body.
It’s free. It’s gentle. It’s full of heart.
