The 14th Annual Langford Lake BBQ Cook-Off is Saturday, May 16, 2026. This is a non-sanctioned open event sponsored by The Historic Red River County Chamber of Commerce. Cook teams consist of a Chief Cook and up to five team members. Contestants may begin setting up anytime during the day on Friday, May 15. The official start time is 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 15. All meat must be packaged at inspection. Contestants must present at least 40 total pounds of meat (any combination of chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork or brisket) for inspection at check in and all meat must be inspected prior to being cooked. RV hook-ups are available on a first call basis. Contact Clarksville City Hall at 903-427-3834 to reserve a space. The meeting with Chief Cooks is at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16. Judging time is determined by meat category and begins at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The public is invited to come to the park at 5:00 p.m. to enjoy a BBQ meal prepared by the cook teams for $15.00 per plate.
The Clarksville Country Club is hosting a fishing tournament at North Lake on May 30, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
