Art Guild Featured Artist Exhibit

BC ART GUILD GALLERY MARCH FEATURED ARTIST EXHIBIT:
LIFE ON THE FUNNY FARM by artist JULIE TOWNSEND March 1~31
Artist Reception Sat March 21,  1-3pm
March Featured Artist, Julie Townsend, wants her art to emotionally transport the viewer  to a more innocent and happy time and place. "My artist motto: Telling Paintbrush Stories to make you Smile"

“I adore painting in acrylics, but drawing has always been my first love.  There is just something about the contrast between the black of the ink and white of the paper…”. Julie  often combines the pen and ink with a touch of color pencil. Her work has evolved over the years, using brush and paint and putting more color and humor into  her works.
Born in Kansas City and  growing up in the rural Ozark hills of Central Missouri, Julie was surrounded by farming, woods, country roads and plenty of wildlife that would later inspire her subject matter.
It wasn’t until 2010 that she decided to take a drawing class at the community college,  followed by an online painting course.  With a great deal of hard work, and determination to get exposure, Julie’s work has begun to be noticed around the country and even internationally.
The Public is invited to the gallery's  Artist Reception Sat March 21, 1-3pm at the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery in the historic Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St, Boulder City.
Light refreshments- Free event.
Gallery open Mon thru Sat 10am-4pm  Sun 10am- 3pm

Best Dam Wine Walk - Steam Punk Theme

#BestDamWineWalk On the 2nd Saturday of each month (excl. May - Aug) Boulder City’s Historic District becomes flooded with both locals and tourists looking to explore the beautiful historic district, meet some amazing business owners and make some new Best Dam Wine Walk friends.

Each month has a special theme that participants are encouraged to dress up around. As they explore the shops and make their way around town one of the businesses will be judging the theme participants and 1 lucky winner is revealed on our Best Dam Wine Walk Facebook page each month. The prize is provided by the Theme Judge from that month.

We also have a App/Map winner pulled each event. The lucky winner receives 2 #BestDamWineWalk glasses at the next wine walk they attend. What does an App/Map mean? We have created a mobile friendly app that allows you to “check in” at each stop simply by scanning the QR code at each participating location. Everyone who checks in at each stop is entered for a chance to win as long as they have filled in their email address so we can contact them : ).

There are packages available with both the Hoover Dam Lodge and Railroad Pass Casino. Packages include a nights stay for 2, 2 wine glasses to the event, a designated driver to and from the event and some offer a complimentary meal as well. See our website for more information or contact each location directly.

Friendly reminder, if you’ve already been out and want to save $5 on your next Best Dam Wine Walk, bring back your #BestDamWineWalk glass!

PLEASE NOTE: The check-in location (subject to change so be sure to check location address) is only open to purchase your wristband and glass from 4:00 - 6:30pm. Event runs from 4:00 - 8:00pm.

Looking forward to seeing you out and about in Boulder City!
