On Sunday nights in the 1950s and 60s, we got to eat dinner in the living room so we could watch Wagon Train, then later Maverick, and finally Bonanza. Meanwhile, Gunsmoke plugged away on CBS for twenty years. In the 1960s, there were Westerns on TV every night including The Virginian, Big Valley, The High Chaparral, and many more.
Let's rekindle fond memories of Matt Dillon, the Cartwrights, and the cowboys, lawmen, and outlaws who won our hearts.

Youth4Youth and The Way Out West Coalition, in collaboration with key community partners, is hosting an essential Fentanyl Forum on January 22 at 6:30 PM at the Palo Verde Education Center in Buckeye, AZ. This impactful event is designed to educate, empower, and engage the community in addressing the growing fentanyl crisis affecting our community.

Why This Forum Matters

Fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, has become a leading cause of overdose deaths across the nation. Our local communities are not immune to its devastating impact. Families, schools, and law enforcement agencies are grappling with the consequences of this crisis, which affects individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

This forum aims to:

  • Provide critical education on the dangers of fentanyl.
  • Equip attendees with resources to protect their families.
  • Foster a collaborative community response to combat this epidemic.

An Engaging Lineup of Experts

The evening will feature Stephanie Siete, a nationally recognized expert on drug education, as the keynote speaker. Known for her dynamic and informative presentations, Stephanie will provide valuable insights into the realities of fentanyl and its impact on our community.  Rachel Mitchell, Maricopa County Attorney, will be leading a discussion with our expert panel.

Why You Should Attend

This is more than an informational event—it’s a call to action for everyone in our community. Parents, educators, students, and community leaders will gain:

  • Life-saving knowledge about fentanyl prevention and intervention
  • Tools to talk to loved ones about the dangers of drug use
  • Resources to support individuals struggling with addiction

Your participation is crucial in building a safer, healthier community. Together, we can tackle this crisis and protect those we love. Let’s come together as a community to confront this urgent issue head-on. Join us on January 22 to learn, connect, and take action.

Buckeye Valley Museum facts
"Did you know Pioneer Days, now celebrated annually as Buckeye Days, was started in 1967 to expand and enhance the Buckeye Historical Museum, a Community Room, and a public library? Initially, the Town planned to construct new housing facilities for the museum but shifted its focus to prioritize the library. By 1971, Buckeye had successfully opened its first dedicated library building."
