Buckeye Launches Water and Wastewater Rate Review

After more than a decade of holding water and wastewater rates steady, the city of Buckeye is reviewing its utility rates to ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable and sustainable service.

Rising costs for operations, materials and water supplies have made it increasingly difficult to maintain existing rates without impacting system quality and reliability. To guide this important effort, Buckeye City Council has established the 2025 Citizen Water and Wastewater Rates Committee (WRC), a group of Buckeye residents working alongside city staff to review data, evaluate rate structures and provide transparent, community-based recommendations to the City Council.

Residents are encouraged to learn more, ask questions and share feedback at one of three public meetings this November, where the committee and city staff will present their findings and recommendations:

  • Nov. 3, 6 – 8 p.m. | Sun City Festival Fire Station 704 | 27360 W. Wagner Complex Dr
  • Nov. 5, 6 – 8 p.m. | Buckeye City Hall Council Chambers | 530 E. Monroe Ave
  • Nov. 6, 6 – 8 p.m. | Sundance HOA Ballroom | 930 S. Sundance Pkwy

These meetings provide residents with a direct opportunity to engage with the process and help shape the future of Buckeye’s water and wastewater services. For more information, visit buckeyeaz.gov/waterrates.

TERAVALIS™ CELEBRATES OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING WITH FLOREO FEST ON

NOVEMBER 15

Tour 20 model homes, savor culinary creations, enjoy live music, art and activities, and discover Arizona’s newest 37,000-acre community by Howard Hughes Communities™

PHOENIX, AZ (October 16, 2025) – Teravalis™, a Howard Hughes community, proudly announces the official grand opening of its 37,000-acre master planned community in Buckeye with a public celebration, Floreo Fest at Teravalis, on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Floreo Fest at Teravalis—named after the community’s first village—will showcase the vibrant lifestyle residents can expect, with activities spread throughout the community’s parks, model homes, and gathering spaces. The free, family friendly event will feature:

  • Model Home Tours: Explore 20 model homes by seven award-winning homebuilders—Century Communities, Courtland Communities, DRB Homes, KB Home, Lennar, Meritage Homes, and New Home Co.—with select homes available for immediate purchase.
  • Music, Arts & Culture: Live music performances by Old Town Love an The Sugar Thieves and art demonstrations throughout the day in collaboration with West Valley Arts Council
  • Sustainability & Conservation: Experiences highlighting Teravalis’ commitment to sustainability and wildlife through its partners at White Tank Mountains Conservancy, interactive demonstrations by Arizona Science Center  and V&P Nurseries, plus local flavor with honey tastings from Sun Tan Honey Farm.
  • Food & Experience: Culinary creations, coffee bar, food truck and immersive environments curated by Cloth + Flame.
  • Children’s Activities: Interactive experiences including flower pressing, custom coloring book stations, bounce houses, train rides and more will be present, including the unique pollinator themed play equipment at both Floreo and Windrose park.

Just three years after its groundbreaking announcement, Floreo Fest at Teravalis marks a major milestone for one of the most anticipated community developments in Arizona. Rooted in the Howard Hughes Communities™  legacy of thoughtful community building, Teravalis is designed around the principles of lifestyle, innovation, sustainability and the arts, with activities at the celebration honoring those founding values.

“Floreo Fest is more than a grand opening—it’s a celebration of a dream taking shape just west of the White Tank Mountains. In a very short time , Teravalis has transformed from vision to reality, with model homes now open, Echo Community Center under way , homes sold, and a community full of life beginning to unfold,” says Charley Freericks, Arizona Region President at Howard Hughes Communities. “This is a historic moment not only for Teravalis but for the entire West Valley, as we set the stage for generations of families, businesses, and cultural experiences to thrive here. We are eager to welcome visitors and future residents to come celebrate with us and glimpse the future we are building together.”

Floreo Fest is generously supported by Centric Fiber, Church of Sun Valley, Kompan, US Bank, and West Valley Rock.

For more information, updates, and to RSVP for Floreo Fest at Teravalis, visit www.teravalis.com/grand-opening.

Calling all hand makers and creative hearts!
Join us at the Buckeye Valley Museum on Wednesday, November 20th from 10 am to 12 pm for a cozy morning of handmade card crafting.
Whether you're an experienced crafter or just starting out, this is the perfect opportunity to create one-of-a-kind cards-ideal for sending holiday cheer adding a personal touch to a gift, or simply sharing a heartfelt hello.
A bit of history: Long before emails and texts, handwritten letters and cards were a cherished way to stay connected. In fact, handcrafted holiday cards were a tradition in many American homes as early as the 1800s-often saved and displayed as keepsakes. This event invites you to carry on that beautiful, personal tradition.
Supplies provided-just bring your creativity! - 14+ recommended - FREE but you do need to register.
Craft from the heart and connect with a time-honored form of expression. We can't wait to see what you'll create!
