The Chester Community Chorus will perform on two dates, June 2nd at 7 p.m. and June 3rd at 3 p.m., under the direction of Jane Brown invites you to join us for the annual Spring Concert which will be featuring many popular and familiar songs from Broadway musicals. Workshop: Gourd Art is Fascinating

Gourd Art is Fascinating

The Blue Goose Gallery is offering this 2-day workshop on methods and techniques in gourd art. This is a hands-on workshop, a complete learning experience, concluding with an artfully crafted gourd by our participants to take home.
 
 The workshop includes the following:
- A broad view of the art, form, and function of gourd art.
- How to envision and develop an "art plan" for decorating gourds.
- Tools and materials needed for working with gourds.
- How to handle, clean and open gourds.
- Where to buy or how to grow gourds.  Developing a gourd art library.
- The vast variety of applications that may be used to transform a gourd into beautiful art and/or functional art.
- Application of techniques; what can be done to and with gourds.
- Finishing a gourd to "high art" and/or "high form/function".
- How to set up a gourd art workshop at home, and gourd displays.

Come learn from two generous and talented Gourd artists!

Workshop Fee: $35. (Students Ages 8-18 ...$20)
(Most supplies will be included)

Tour de Manure!  June 16th 2018
Cycle the bucolic pasturelands and historic ranching communities of Sierra Valley
Start
: Sierraville Firehouse, 102 Main St., Sierraville, CA
           Registration begins at 7 a.m., Ride begins between 8 and 9 a.m.
Routes: 62 and 42 mile loops and a 30 mile out and back, not timed
Fees: $60 for sign up by June 10th, $70 for sign ups June 11th to day of Tour, $30 for riders 12 and under
Parking: On the street in Sierraville or in free private lots assisted by parking attendants
Included: A 10th ANNIVERSARY “ROARING BULL” T-Shirt, rest stop food and drink, SAG support, a post Tour party with grilled smoked tri-tip, BBQ chicken, veggie pasta, veggie beans, salad, chips and salsa, garlic bread, lemonade, cookies, and live retro country rock ‘n’ roll music by Michael Hogan and the Simpletones.

Lake Almanor Kayak Tour of the North Olsen Property

Boating tour of the Olsen Meadow north of Hwy 36.  Led my naturalist Nils Linder.

Registration required.  Maximum 22 seats for this flat water paddle.  40 spots for BBQ lunch at the Olsen Barn at 1:00 pm

Chester High School Mini Cheerleader Camp

This mini cheer camp is for ages 5 to 12 and will consist of a half time cheer, dance and some new sideline material. Each child will get a t-shirt, a chance to be in the 4th of July parade, and will be cheering for one quarter of a football game and do the half time routine they will learn here at camp with the high school cheerleaders. Game TBA. We will also have a special guest on Tuesday, June 26th for some tumbling tips!!

16th Annual Bailey Creek Golf Camp Ages 5-11

In its 16th year of operation, the Bailey Creek Junior Golf Camp has established itself as one of the most popular summer camps in the area.  Past campers have gone on to compete on their local High School golf teams and some have gone on to the collegiate level!  The golf camp is led by PGA Head Professional Ronnie Theobald and PGA Assistant Professional Greg Killingsworth.  

While attending teh Bailey Creek Junior Golf Camp, your child will be given three days of driving range instruction focused on the following:  Full swing, chipping, pitching, sand play and putting.  They will finish camp with the 4th day consisting of contests and other activities testing the skills they worked on all week.  Numerous awards will be given on the 4th day.  Campers will also be instructed on golf rules as well as etiquette throughout the entire camp.

In addition to the golf knowledge that will be imparted on your child, campers will also receive a camp gift, as well as daily snacks, and a pass for a free round of golf with a paying adult!
