Merchant's Scarecrow Competition

Scarecrows will be judged online or via text by members of the community! Judging closes at midnight October 31st. 

The winner will get an award recognizing community participation and spirit, a  photo will be taken and posted to various social media accounts and more.   

We also would like to invite businesses that do not have a main street or storefront location to participate. (Contact Chelssa at Chelssa@lakealmanorarea.com to find out more information) 

Fees from the competition go to prizes for the Merchants Trick or Treat Costume Contest! 

Please wait till 10/7 to decorate as we do not want to take away from spirit week.

Town Coffee

 Speaking of fabulous, our first Town Coffee on September 25th, had a great turnout! The energy and enthusiasm of the folks there as we discussed “A Town Plaza for Year-Round Activities” was incredible. We are forging forward with planning If you missed it, we’d love to have you join us at the follow-up meeting, scheduled for October 16. At the Coffee Station at 8:30. Information on the Town Plaza Project can be found at the Community drop down on our website. 

Brainstorming "A Town Plaza for Year Round Activities" was rated the #1 Town Coffee idea. We will roll out our first Coffee with this topic on Wednesday Morning, October 16th  at 8:30 am

flu vaccination clinic at Chester Memorial Hall

Plumas County Public Health Agency provides flu vaccination clinic at Chester Memorial Hall (inside/ walk in), 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., or until vaccine is gone. Flu forms can be downloaded at www.plumascounty.us/publichealth/fluinformation If there are mobility issues a staff member will administer the vaccine at vehicles.

Merchants Safe Trick or Treat

Merchants Safe Trick or Treat down Main Street Chester is a Halloween tradition. Merchants up and down the street happily open their doors to children of all ages to share in the fun. Safe crossing of streets is provided by the Interact Club at Chester High School. Merchants open their doors from 3 - 5 pm. Costume Contest from 3 - 5 pm at Stover Landing Commons parking lot 278 Main Street, sponsored by Lake Almanor Area Chamber.

Costume Contest

Dress it up for a Costume Contest during Merchant's Safe Trick or Treat down Main Street!  The Lake Almanor Area Chamber is sponsoring the contest at the Stover Landing Commons parking lot, 278 Main Street. Judging will take place between 3 and 5 pm. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place: $100, $75, $50 respectively. Come on out and have some fun!
