Keeping Seniors Safe: Medications & Supplemens: Summit Senior Breakfast Club

Summit Senior Breakfast Club
Keeping Seniors Safe:  Medications & Supplements

Managing medications can be challenging for seniors.  With 87% of seniors taking at least one prescription drug according to the CDC and many taking over five of them it's important to become educated on the potential risks involved in how medications interrelate with vitamins and minerals, and even with certain types of foods.  Medicines are used to treat disease, manage conditions, and relieve symptoms.  Medicines are generally safe when used as prescribed or directed on the label.  Join Elizabeth Yun, Internal Medicine Physician, and arm yourself with information to keep safe.

What are the Advantages of Involving Kids in the Kitchen?
Getting involved in cooking helps your child to develop fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, and early concepts as math and science.  The benefit of learning helps with nutrition and picky eaters.  Involving kids in the kitchen is a great opportunity for them to learn about healthy and unhealthy foods.  very often, when people learn good habits such as these at a young age, they tend to carry these values with them well into adulthood.  Learn etiquette, manners, measuring and learn how to chop and use a blender.  All recipes are healthy.
