NICC Virtual Class: Board Member Leadership Training

Enter URL and insert class # 80113 to register
https://nicc.augusoft.net/index.cfm?method=ClassListing.ClassListingDisplay

There's a pretty steep learning curve that comes with joining a board. Every organization has its own unique operational standards and quirks. Even if your new board member has previous experience serving, they've never served on your board. Without proper guidance, the process of getting adjusted to a new board position can be intimidating and lengthy. Worst case scenarios; some board members never find their footing, and leave at or before the conclusion of their term. Board training programs help prevent new board members from feeling overwhelmed by their position, and empower them to be proactive from the start of their service. Empowered board members do more for your nonprofit.

Mike Holt Enterprises, the nationally-recognized experts and trainers of all things electrical, is returning to Dubuque for two days of high-energy, interactive learning. According to Holt, the most essential safety rules for every electrical professional are those related to fire and electrical shock hazards. This course will review the changes made to the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC). There will be a review of NEC code topics that can help ensure compliance, strengthen electrical training programs, and serve as a reference at regular safety meetings. This class will also devote time to grounding and bonding, one of the most important and least understood articles in the NEC. It is critical to understand the difference between grounding and bonding in order to correctly apply the provisions of Article 250. This class will satisfy the Iowa Electrical Examining Board minimum requirement of 18 continuing education hours for license renewal for electricians due to renew December 2022. Continuing education credit is also available from Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Are you too tired, busy or burned-out to think big? And if so, what do you do about it? With the pace of change only continuing to escalate during and after COVID-19, it’s critical that businesses provide an optimal environment for people to be at their best. The time is now to create a culture of resilience for long-term success. We refer to this differentiator as a “Got Your Back Culture”, characterized by systems that prioritize and promote resilience and focus on the value of incremental improvements. With an estimated $62 billion a year in corporate health and safety costs alone due to exhaustion and burnout, it’s vital that leaders develop the organizational capacity to not only perform under stress, but to thrive in the face of it.

Attend the Northeast Iowa Community College Virtual, high-energy and interactive Business and Community Solutions Business Summit. The Business Summit gives you the access to experiences and perspectives of hundreds of business professionals facing the same challenges you face, while giving you the tools, strategies, and best practices to change the way you think as a leader and innovate the strategies you use in your work.
