A rummage sale to benefit the rehabilitation of the historic White Sulphur Springs Ranch(WSSR) will be held on Saturday June 8, from 8 am to 2 pm at the Ranch site on Highway 89 near Clio.  House tours will be available so that attendees can see the improvements recently made to the interior of the old Ranch House.

Donations will be accepted on two collection dates, Friday, May 24 and Saturday June 1, from 10 am to 2 pm.  Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council (MVSC) volunteers will accept gently used goods such as household items, furniture, sporting equipment, seasonal items, functioning electrical items and collectibles. The event organizers think that the timing of the event takes advantage of spring cleaning activities throughout the area. The MVSC boasts over 200 Members. Donated rummage sale items are accumulating rapidly in all rooms of the old Ranch House.

Items that cannot be accepted are computers, television sets, mattresses and bedding, clothing or shoes, children’s car seats and books.

The MVSC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and future use of this historical landmark for public activities and events. Receipts will be available for all donations.

Interested parties should save the rummage sale date.  June 8, from 8 am to 2 pm.  More information will be provided as the event date approaches.

Questions and donation scheduling information can be obtained by calling Judy at 530-836-0254 or Sarah at 530-836-1543.

Teen Summer Retreat

Come relax and enjoy the outdoors and summer with us! If you are a teen who wants to get away from it all, then this camp is for you. Enjoy an opportunity to relax, laugh and have fun with your peers in the Sierra Nevada Journeys summer camp setting. This program is exclusive to teenagers who want to have a camp experience that is separate from the younger Sierra Nevada Journeys’ campers. Spend a full day on the challenge course using both low and high elements, spend a night camping out under the stars with your group, and work with your leaders to plan the other activities during your week. This camp is filled with space for you and other teens to build strong, life-long friendships that have always been a part of the camp experience.

Note: Campers will be staying in ground level tents with other campers of the same gender. The bathrooms (portable restrooms) are a short walk away from the tents. Campers will have access to hot-water showers and flush toilets in the nearest building (less than 80 yards away).  This centrally located unit also has its own fire pit and picnic tables.

Registration 3 PM; Pick up 10 AM. For more information, email snjcamps@sierranevadajourneys.org
