Portola Concerts in the Park: Vicente Arreola

Join us for the last week of the Portola Concerts in the Park summer music series in the Portola City Park featuring "Vicente Arreola y su Norteno Banda." This music series is a fundraiser for the Lost Sierra Visitor Center in Blairsden. We'll start early with games for the children: 4 PM. Music at 6 PM.

Western Pacific Celebration

Join in the fun at the Western Pacific Celebration, August 3 and 4, 2019 at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum.  Experience living history and special guests at the largest operating railroad museum in the Sierras.  Enjoy guided tours of the museum and get a chance to ride in the cab of a working railroad locomotive.  Enter the prize raffle for a chance to win an opportunity to be an engineer for an hour. Other events to be announced soon. Open 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday, August 3 & 4. Trailblazers Summer Camp

Are you ready for the ultimate summer trip before school starts? Join us for a week of fun including a four-day, three-night backpacking trip. Arrive at camp for a day of team building and planning a group trip. Once your backpacks are prepped, we’ll hit the trail. Whether this is your first time camping or you have hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, this trip is for you! Our knowledgeable staff will guide you to beautiful lakes, amazing meadows and breathtaking mountain views. Campers in this program should be able to hike up to seven miles a day with a backpack weighing 25+ lbs. Your week also includes activities such as the challenge course and swimming at the pool. MCRC Open House

Mohawk Community Resource Center will be hosting an Open House.  The event will educate the community about the various usage by civic groups, along with the programs and classes offered at the Center, as well as the financial needs for keeping the Center open and available to the community at large.  Light refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

Speakers Bureau

Local Civil War historian, Denny FitzPatrick, will be lecturing on the Battle of Shiloh.  The Battle of Shiloh, fought in the wilderness of south central Tennessee, marked a turning point in the War involving over 80,000 troops and claiming almost 24,000 casualties.
