Communicate with Impact — a LEAD Local: Engage Workshop
The most effective leaders know that communication is the foundation of trust, connection, and influence.

In a world of competing voices, shifting media landscapes, and high-stakes moments, how you communicate can determine whether your message lands—or gets lost.

In Communicate with Impact, you will spend the day sharpening your ability to engage authentically, speak with confidence, and shape narratives that resonate. The day features:

  • Presence & Clarity Under Pressure – A special workshop with Stanford Professor and Think Faster, Talk Smarter author Matt Abrahams on speaking clearly, thinking on your feet, and inspiring action and trust in any situation.

  • The Media’s Voice in Our Community – A conversation with leaders from the Daily JournalCoastside Review, and EPA Today on the evolving role of local media and how it shapes public dialogue.

  • Shaping Organizational Narratives – Case studies with PR professionals exploring what works (and what doesn’t) when telling your organization’s story and building trust in your community—featuring real challenges, lessons learned, practical tools, and time for Q&A.

You will leave with tangible strategies to communicate with clarity, build trust with your audience, and amplify your message across any platform.

Join us for an informative and engaging session to learn about CalSavers, California’s retirement savings program. You’ll discover how it can benefit your organization and employees, ensure compliance with state law, and have the opportunity to ask questions directly and register your organization for CalSavers if you choose.

The Commission on the Status of Women is here to support you through this important transition. CalSavers is a key step toward expanding access to retirement savings (especially for employees of small organizations) and helps address the wealth gap that disproportionately impacts women.
