Pricing for Profit: Stop Undercharging and Start Pricing Strategically with Gisel Martin from the San Mateo SBDC

Many business owners set prices based on what competitors charge, what feels reasonable, or what they think customers will pay. The result? Working harder than ever while profits stay frustratingly small.

In this practical, no-nonsense workshop, you’ll learn how to price your products and services in a way that actually supports the growth and sustainability of your business. We’ll break down the key factors that go into profitable pricing, how to understand your true costs, and how to position your value so customers are willing to pay for it.

Whether you're running a service-based business, selling products, or just starting out, this session will help you stop guessing and start making confident pricing decisions that support your goals.

You’ll walk away with tools to evaluate your current pricing, strategies to improve your margins, and a clearer understanding of how pricing impacts your long-term success.

πŸ’Ό About the Women’s Impact Network (WIN)

WIN is more than a council—it’s a movement. We’re a powerhouse collective of women in business who believe in showing up, speaking up, and lifting up. Whether you’re running the show or rising through the ranks, WIN is your place to connect with other trailblazers, share real talk about leadership, and drive impact in Foster City and beyond.

We host intentional gatherings, strategic discussions, and unapologetically empowering events that fuel both your personal and professional growth. If you're looking for a room full of smart, bold, big-energy women, you just found it.

Because when women lead, everyone wins.
P.S. While WIN is powered by women, men are absolutely welcome to attend. Allies, mentors, and partners in business — you’ve got a seat at the table.

Bio-By-The-Lagoon Biotech Event

Pushing the Frontiers of Biology & Drug Discovery with AI

Date: Sunday, April 12, 2026
Time: 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Join us for an honest and insightful conversation on where AI is actually moving the needle in biotech and drug discovery, and where it’s still hype. We’ll explore how model choice, experimental design, and data quality shape real translational impact.

This event is designed for a broad audience — from individual contributors to founders and C-suite leaders — who want a clear-eyed view of what’s working in AI for biology today.

Meet Our Expert Speakers and Panelists🎀

What You’ll Learn

Our speakers will present on the following core topics, followed by a panel discussion:

Respecting Biology

  • Signal vs. noise: Where are AI models genuinely improving biological prediction vs. just fitting noisy proxies?

  • Training data that matters: What experimental systems produce the most useful datasets for biological models (and why)?

  • From models to medicine: How do we connect in silico models to real human biology — especially longitudinal patient data?

  • ROI reality check: Where are we seeing real ROI across the pharma value chain today (and what “ROI” really means in practice)?

Drug Discovery

  • Case study / deep dive: AI/ML for multiplexed, high-content protein expression analysis (e.g., PK/ADME in organoids)

  • Macro-analysis: How AI is transforming Drug Discovery

Have questions about AI in Biology and Drug Discovery? Submit them during registration and our panel will address them live! Alternatively, questions can be emailed to biobythelagoon@gmail.com.
