City Wide Garage Sale

This is the 19th year of yhe City-Wide Garage Sale, which benefits the Woodland Park High School Key Club.
Each space is two individual parking spaces.  Individuals may sign up at Alpine Firearms, located at 102 W. Midland Avenue.  Cost per space is $18.00; checks may be made out to the WPHS-Key Club. Set-up is 5 am to 7 am in the parking lot of the Woodland Park High School.  The sale is from 7 am to 2 pm.

Rockies Baseball Skills Challenge

Boys and girls are encouraged to test their baseball skills in base running, hitting off a tee and throwing. The top scoring boy and girl in each age group will have the opportunity to advance to the regional competition. The top scoring boy and girl in each age group at the regional level will advance to the State Championships in Denver, followed by a Rockies Baseball Game.

LO2 CLASSIC ROCK MUSIC FESTIVAL


The LO2 (Low Oxygen) Music Festival is a one day live music festival on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Woodland Park, Colorado featuring music from the 60s 70s and 80s. 

Music will be outside at the Midland Pavilion, The Cultural Center will have indoor vendors and a classic rock “experience”. There will be multiple food, drink and other vendors in the upper lot and on Midland Avenue.

Ute Pass Historical Society Free Historic Tours

Ute Pass Historical Society offers FREE guided tours of History Park and the Walking Tour of downtown Woodland Park every Saturday this summer, beginning June 8th through August 31st (excluding Saturday, August 3rd).
The 90-minute Walking Tour of Downtown Woodland Park begins at 9:30 a.m., so please arrive at the UPHS Museum Center by 9:20 a.m.
The Museum Center is located at 231 E. Henrietta Avenue, next to the Woodland Park Public Library. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and a light sweater.
After the downtown walking tour, walk through the bygone days with Ute Pass Historical Society. The tour of the five buildings comprising History Park is at 11 a.m. Exhibits and contents have recently been refashioned so “come again for the first time!”
While at History Park, visit the Old Curiosity Gift Shop, which offers an extensive selection of books and unique gift items. The Gift Shop is located in the Museum Center and is open year-round, Wednesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dickson Post 1980 conducts a formal U.S.A. flag retirement ceremony assisted by Scouts of America Troop 230.   Sometimes the event has to be postponed due to weather and/or open fire bans.   Any American Legion or VFW member will accept worn flags for retirement.   Worn flags can also be dropped off at the Senior Center for The American Legion.

Suds, Stumps and Stars

Come join The Friends of the Florissant Fossil Beds for a fun night of food, beer, music, and star gazing!
Music by the 1 11 Band; food and beverage will be available for purchase from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Astronomy activities with the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society will last from 8:30 pm until 10:30 pm. It will be an exciting night under the stars and a great way to kick off the 50th anniversary summer at the monument.

Woodland Park Art Camp: Sketching Like a Boss


Some of the greatest minds in history were prolific sketchers: Leonardo da Vinci, William Clark, John James Audubon, and Nikola Tesla were just a few!

At this fun camp, everybody gets a real field journal, a set of drawing and painting tools to keep, and a lot of open space to observe and record our natural surroundings in a creative and engaging way. Attention will be given to the connection between art and biology, and all art materials are included.

Please bring a snack, water, a jacket, and sunscreen so you’re prepared for all of Colorado’s moods!

Ute Pass Historical Society Free Historic Tours

Ute Pass Historical Society offers FREE guided tours of History Park and the Walking Tour of downtown Woodland Park every Saturday this summer, beginning June 8th through August 31st (excluding Saturday, August 3rd).
The 90-minute Walking Tour of Downtown Woodland Park begins at 9:30 a.m., so please arrive at the UPHS Museum Center by 9:20 a.m.
The Museum Center is located at 231 E. Henrietta Avenue, next to the Woodland Park Public Library. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and a light sweater.
After the downtown walking tour, walk through the bygone days with Ute Pass Historical Society. The tour of the five buildings comprising History Park is at 11 a.m. Exhibits and contents have recently been refashioned so “come again for the first time!”
While at History Park, visit the Old Curiosity Gift Shop, which offers an extensive selection of books and unique gift items. The Gift Shop is located in the Museum Center and is open year-round, Wednesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Photography has changed a lot since the 1800s, and in this camp, we’re going to find out just how… but we’re not just going to talk about it, we’re going to get hands-on with it! We’ll even make our own cameras!

We will explore pinhole, cyanotype, film, and digital photography using our beautiful natural surroundings as our subject.
