Join Naturalists Carrie, Eileen and Ben while we hike trails #13, #12, #31, #30 and #14. We will hike past Nobel cabin and into Dome Rock State Wildlife Area. There is a fee to hike in the wildlife area. A fishing license will do or you can purchase a one day pass at the Visitor Center for $9. Remember to purchase before the day of the hike since we begin before the center opens. Estimated 8 or 9 miles. Dress in layers and bring water. Don't want to do the whole challenge? Every fall, bull elk seek out and compete for females. Visitors over the age of 10 can witness this amazing yearly event. This is a strenuous 3 mile round trip hike, returning after dark with Naturalist Ashley. In order to access Grouse Mountain Trailhead at this time of year you will need to park at Black Bear Trailhead parking area and hike the road adding a half mile each way. Around 4 miles total. Bring flashlights, binoculars, rain gear and wear layers. Must sign up at the Visitor Center via walk-in or by calling (719) 687-2366. Meet at Grouse Mountain Trailhead.

We will be handing out candy to kids and treats to pups and are inviting your business to join us! This is simply a fun family event to bring the community together on the spookiest night of the year! Plus, who can resist little people in costumes?
No money can be exchanged. No alcohol allowed.

Prep and hand out candy or goodie bags with or without your business info, it is up to you! Some electric outlets will be available. We will provide a full sound system and lights.
 
3pm to 4pm – Setup
4pm to 7pm – Hand out treats!
7pm to 8pm – Cleanup
