Join the community & help fight ALS during the 5th Colorado Springs Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, May 6th at America the Beautiful Park! Walk check-in will begin at 10:00am, Welcome/Unlock Ceremony at 10:45am, and Walk start at 11:00am.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, currently there is no cure. The ALS Association Rocky Mountain Chapter strives to fight ALS and empower people living with ALS today.  Your support and donations help the ALS Association provide services that include an equipment loan closet, care services information, support groups, and more!

The Greater Woodland Park Chamber has partnered with the Teller County Assessors Office to offer an informational meeting on the 2023 Reappraisals.  THIS MEETING IS FOR RESIDENTS OF TELLER COUNTY.
 
Presenters - Carol Kittelson, Assessor
Michael Akana, Deputy Assessor
 
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the state of the Market on June 30, 2022 for the purposes of valuation for Notices of Value, which will be mailed May 1, 2023.
 
Discussed by the presenters will be methodology; market trends from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022; current market trends, and proposed legislation. This will cover the Teller County market for Residential, Vacant Land, and Commercial.

In preparation for our Kirkin ‘o’ the Tartan, Jerry Paul, a genealogy hobbyist, will present a Genealogy 101 session on how to get started on your quest with little to no cost, or if investing in one or more of the genealogy sites like Ancestry.com, or a DNA test are options for your search. He has helped several friends and acquaintances with their journeys to the past. While not a professional genealogist, he has spent hundreds of hours researching various records of families from Scandinavia, Africa, and Indigenous Americas. Bring your questions and family lore.
