This class is best for those who have some experience fly fishing or have attended a Mueller fly fishing basics class. | 10/19/2025 | Mueller State Park welcomes guest presenter, Dennis R. Moore, a founding member of the Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Committee in Colorado Springs. Dennis will share with us important history about these men (and sometimes women) who fought for the U.S. before the Revolutionary War. They were also first official post-Civil War protectors and stewards of many natural resources. For example, they were assigned the job of being parks first “Park Guardians” at places like Yosemite National Park. They also had involvement with the Ute Pass here in Colorado. Although the 25th Calvary’s arduous Rocky Mountain bicycle assignment didn’t pass through Colorado, the story is not to be missed.
