Warren County Piecemakers' Quilt Guild Exhibition at Simpson College Gallery of Art and Design, April 5, 2024 through July 31, 2024. The exhibition features 17 quilts made by members of the guild.

The gallery is located on Howard Street between Clinton and Detroit Avenues. Gallery hours are 9am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday through the end of May. On weekends, and after May, the gallery can be open by special arrangement. Contact Justin Nostrala at justin.nostrala@simpson.edu. The gallery will also be open regularly during the Indianola Summer Arts Festival and Balloon Classic, Saturday, July 27 and 28, 2024. Join us as we celebrate spring and the new riding season! Have your bike blessed, test ride a new motorcycle, enjoy some live music, or just stop in for a FREE BBQ lunch.

The local Christian Motorcycle Association chapter will be on hand to bless your motorcycle starting with a group blessing at 1pm. Following the group blessing, individuals from the CMA will bless each individual motorcycle, meeting riders at their bikes.

Enjoy some live music and a free BBQ lunch starting at 11:00.
Check out our selection of new and pre-owned motorcycles, and hang out during the Open House.
Store hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Bike Blessing starts at 10:00 am.
FREE BBQ starts at 11:00 am and goes until we run out of food.

Indianola Public Library and Indianola Parks and Recreation are partnering to bring you an afternoon of local authors, prizes, and baked treats at the Activity Center!

Authors Jamie Ogle, Ann Hanigan Kotz, and Joseph LeValley will each give a talk throughout the afternoon. More authors will be there to answer your questions and showcase their books, including Ember Gray and Nina Wilson. Pageturners Bookstore will also have local interest books for sale, and baked treats are generously donated by The Cookie Lady. Both businesses and the library are also bringing raffle prizes - you’ll get a free raffle ticket at the door!

As the weather gets warmer, we want to focus our supper clubs on a local presence of ingredients and talent. Our Spring Soirée will consist of 6 courses of vegetable forward small plates showcasing spring’s first harvest. Join us on April 20th for an evening full of flavor. With the amount of courses, there will be one seating for this event at 6pm so you are able to take your time with each course and throughly enjoy the experience.

Looking for a fun new outdoor hobby? Want to participate in a county-wide Geocaching Adventure? Come discover the fun and excitement of geocaching, the high tech outdoor scavenger hunt that uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) unit!
Join a Warren County Conservation Board Naturalist for a beginner course to learn about geocaching and how to use the Geocaching app on your phone. Then head out in the park to find "treasures" called caches. Fun for the whole family! After this session you will be prepared to head out on your own and find the Geocaching Mineral Adventure caches hidden in Warren County Parks.
This activity is free but please register by Tuesday, April 23rd. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
It is a good idea to create an account on the geocaching app or on geocaching.com prior to the event. If you need help with that, please give us a call at 515-961-6169.

Patrick Moore is an Indianola composer and lifelong musician. His music is predominantly guitar oriented, though all the musical instruments on his albums are played by him. His main influences are Pat Metheny, Jean-Luc Ponty and Keith Jarrett. He will have eight instrumental jazz CDs available and will be accepting tips. All music will be his original music.

Are you in need of an easy, filling, and delicious recipe for your next camping trip or outdoor adventure? Learn to prepare scrumptious recipes that will feed a crowd. Participants will prepare recipes, cook them in the Dutch oven, and learn how to care for Dutch oven cookware.

The cost is $5 per person and payment of cash or check can me dropped off or mailed to WCCB, 15565 118th Ave., Indianola, IA 50125. This program is geared towards those 12 and older and children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. Payment and registration are required by May 2, 2024.

he Indianola Fire Department and Indianola Noon Lions Club are flipping flapjacks at the 2024 Open House and Pancake Breakfast fundraiser! This family-friendly event draws hundreds of residents who can enjoy "all you care to eat" pancakes and sausage. Coffee, juice and milk will also be provided. 

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Fee: Free-will donation encouraged ($5.00/person suggested)
  • Donation Cause: To raise money to purchase a UEScope® Video Laryngoscope

“The King Vision video laryngoscopes that the fire department uses are being discontinued, according to the manufacturer. Because of this, the Indianola Fire Department is fundraising to replace the obsolete equipment,” said Indianola Fire Captain Thad White. “The UEScope has been identified as a good replacement that will meet the needs of our paramedics and the citizens of Indianola.”

Ackworth Garden Club Plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  This event is for both seasoned gardeners and casual plant lovers.

This is our annual fundraiser. We use our proceeds to fund various projects in our communities. This includes Youth Container Gardening Class, Warren County Fair Junior Flower Department premiums.  We maintain gardens at the Warren County Fairgrounds, Norwalk Brownie Park & Magnolia Arboretum, Carlisle Historical Randleman House, Warren County Justice Center and Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church Grounds. We also sponsor a $500 scholarship for a local Warren County horticultural student attending Iowa State University.
