4/5/2025	Wren Masters "Textures of the Baroque" The Wren Masters return to Historic Christ Church on Saturday, April 5, with “Textures of the Baroque.” Featuring the music of Buxtehude, Schmelzer, J.S. Bach, Jean-Philippe Rameau and others, and showcasing Opus 93, HCC’s new continuo organ, this exciting program explores the contrasting keyboard sounds of both organ and harpsichord with the baroque violin and viola da gamba. more info...
4/6/2025	Sangria Sunday This is a popular, weekly event at Good Luck Cellars (GLC) and one you must enjoy if you’re in the area. We make fresh sangria each week, featuring a GLC wine. We make a different recipe each week -- sometimes it’s made with white, sometimes it’s rose, or red. During the colder months, we make a warm, seasonal version that’ll warm the soul :0) When it’s gone…it’s gone…until the next Sunday, of course, when we make a new batch. Come Sip and Sangria with us. IMPORTANT NOTE: SANGRIA IS NOT SERVED ON DURING BIG EVENTS: THE OYSTER CRAWL EVENTS IN APRIL & NOVEMBER as well as the POUR YOUR HEART OUT event in JULY. more info...

4/10/2025	2025 Spring Speaker Series: Mark Maloy "Battles of Lexington and Concord" Mark Maloy: “The Shot Heard Round the World: The Battles of Lexington and Concord” What began as a mission by British troops to find hidden stores of weapons and gunpowder ended in a day long 18-mile running battle. Lexington and Concord started an eight-year war that resulted in the independence of the United States of America. Come learn about these first battles of the war and what visitors to the area can see there today. Mark Maloy is a historian with the National Park Service in Virginia. He holds degrees in history from the College of William & Mary and George Mason University. more info...
4/11/2025	Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts - Arts for Youth presents The Wizard of Oz and Jack's Adventure in Space In 2018, Bright Star adapted The Wizard of Oz into a two person play and the result was amazing! While the medium might be different, the characters and classic story line remain the same. Follow comic duo Lenny and Mabel down the yellow brick road to the land of Oz and meet all of your favorite characters along the way! Gain courage with the Cowardly Lion, take heart with the Tin Man, and find your wits with the Scarecrow in this fun interactive retelling of the L. Frank Baum classic. When it comes to adventure and imagination, no one beats Jack! Come along with Jack in this out-of-this-world adventure through the solar system! Learn about the origins of the names of the planets Mercury to Neptune, and even the controversial Pluto. Students will also learn about the physical features of the various planets and discover fun facts about each planet’s special path around the sun in this fun STEM adventure! more info...

4/26/2025	Northern Neck Orchestra Concert The Northern Neck Orchestra will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture” and “Triple Concerto” as well as Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “Symphonic Variations on an African Air” at its final concert of the 2024-2025 season on April 26 at the Lancaster Elementary School Theater, 191 School Street, in Kilmarnock. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a pre-concert talk by Music Director Michael Repper. Tickets are $40.00 and may be purchased at the door or online at www.northernneckorchestra.org. Students are admitted free with an online reservation. more info...
