| 4/27/2023 | Come meet with Amanda - Executive Director, Kaitie - Operations Manager/Activity Director, and Paul - Board Member and camp counselor/activity team at Hampton Inn in Burley to learn about a 4-day, 3-night summer camp opportunity for children with medical conditions. We will hang out in the conference room from 4-6pm on Thursday, April 27th to allow potential camp families and volunteers to meet with us and learn about Camp River Run. Kids are welcome to attend with parents! Camp River Run is based in the Treasure Valley, but we held our first day camp in the Magic Valley on January 7th at the Twin Falls Boys and Girls Club. We aim to take half of our campers and volunteers by chartered bus from the Magic Valley to Hidden Paradise for summer camp this year! We will also hold our first Swingin' For Dreams golf tournament at Canyon Springs in October. To provide youth who are battling medical conditions an outdoor camp experience they would not otherwise be able to enjoy. By empowering children with medical conditions to embrace their individuality and fostering a sense of belonging through meaningful connections and joyful activities, our summer camp cultivates the magic of being a kid. That is our mission & vision however, our mission is so much more than words. We have spent the past 15 years inspiring not only the children of families we serve but also their parents and siblings, not to mention the many volunteers who make our camps possible. Our camps are run entirely by volunteers. Our Camp Director, Medical Director, Medical Team, Counselors, Activities Volunteers, and year around supporters are all volunteers. Until this year, our Executive Director was the only paid position. We now also have an Operations Manager. ***Our programs are provided at no cost to campers and their families.
