Movie: "Love, Simon"

Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year-old Simon Spier it’s a little more complicated: he’s yet to tell his family or friends he’s gay and he doesn’t actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Directed by Greg Berlanti (Riverdale, The Flash, Supergirl), written by Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger (This is Us), and based on Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed novel, Love, Simon is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love.

This 110 minute Comic Drama Romance is Rated PG-13 for thematic elements, sexual references, language and teen partying.

History of the Olsen Barn

The Olsen Barn, over 130 years old, is one of the most fantastic barns in northern California. The barn is a reminder of earlier times. Inside it is a marvelous example of massive hand-hewn timbers held together with wooden pegs. Marilyn Quadrio, local historian, will paint a picture of pioneer days on the Olsen Ranch and Chester. After the talk there will be time to explore the Olsen Barn Meadow including a walk down to the North Fork of the Feather River.
Meet at the Barn, eastern side of Chester, after entering off of Highway 36 and walk to the barn. For those with physical challenges there is another entrance that isn't usually open to the public. Please contact 530 283-5785 or kkleven@frlt.org for more information. Photo by David Leland Hyde.
