Movie: "I Can Only Imagine"

The film brings to life the true story behind the song of ultimate hope, 'I Can Only Imagine.' A transformed relationship with his troubled father (Dennis Quaid) inspired Bart Millard (J. Michael Finley), the lead singer of the Christian band MercyMe, to write what is now the most-played radio single in Christian music history. The story beautifully illustrates that nobody is ever too far from God's love -- or too far from an eternal home in Heaven.

This 110 minute Family film is Rated PG for thematic elements including some violence

Wildland Fire Response Forum

We jointly assist each other to better protect our public and private lands during wildland fire incidents. I would like to provide a forum where we can all voice our concerns and share our expectations concerning wildland fire response.  Our Fire and Aviation Management program would also like to use this opportunity to provide you with information about the outlook for the upcoming season and how we plan to respond to incidents.
Our interaction with each other is a vital part of preseason planning. Your input is essential and helps to shape the way we manage wildland fire.

Movie: "Finding Your Feet"

When uptight ‘Lady’ Sandra Abbott (Academy Award nominee Imelda Staunton, Maleficent, Vera Drake) discovers that her husband of forty years (John Sessions) is having an affair with her best friend (Josie Lawrence) she seeks refuge in London with her estranged, older sister Bif (Celia Imrie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Bridget Jones’ Baby). The two could not be more different — Sandra is a fish out of water next to her outspoken, serial dating, free-spirited sibling. But different is just what Sandra needs at the moment, and she reluctantly lets Bif drag her along to a community dance class, where gradually she starts finding her feet and romance as she meets her sister’s friends, Charlie (Timothy Spall), Jackie (Joanna Lumley) and Ted (David Hayman). This colorful, defiant and energetic group start to show Sandra that retirement is in fact only the beginning and that divorce might just give her a whole new lease on love and life.

This 111 minute Romantic Comedy is Rated PG-13 for suggestive material.

Baker Cypress Field Trip

This is a unique opportunity to join USFS Hydrologist Kelby Gardiner as he leads a tour of the Mud Lake Research Natural Area (MLRNA).  He'll discuss the regeneration of rare fire-adapted Baker Cypress conifers.  The MLRNA is one of only two areas in Plumas National Forest that host the Baker Cypress.  We'll also bird the area!!

Where:  Meet in the parking lot behind Pangaea in Quincy, CA at 8am.  We'll carpool to the T at Hwy 89 and Arlington Road where participants coming from the Chester/Almanor area can meet up and then carpool over to the Moonlight Fire Area east of Taylorsville.  High profile vehicles recommended - it's a bumpy ride!
