Mindful Nurturing Parenting 8 Week Classes

These LIVE interactive on-line classes are appropriate for everyone—parents, foster parents, grandparents, teachers, CASA volunteers, and anyone wanting to interact with children more mindfully and with less stress. The Nurturing Parenting curriculum is recognized by the National Registry of Effective Programs and multiple federal and non-governmental agencies for its effectiveness in offering support for personal growth and promoting strong families. The concept of mindfulness has been woven throughout the curriculum to support emotional competency and self-awareness.

The 8-week, two-hour live video classes offer multimedia presentations, resource guides, and open discussions to provide support, encouragement and guidance.

This 8 week class is $170. Use the ticket link below to register. Class will be held each Tuesday for 8 weeks, starting November 3, 2020 from 5pm to 7pm.

Trivia is back! Yes, despite it all, we are gonna rally and start a new real-life weekly trivia tournament tomorrow, Thursday Oct 15 at 6:30. Please be aware that due to Covid our guest capacity is reduced both inside and outside, and we all still need to do our part per the state regulations: you must bring a mask, make responsible choices with your table groups, and respect social distancing guidelines. Oh, and have fun too.

The new kid at school, Charley Maplewood, has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which he doesn’t have. Well, unless you count his monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that he’s turning ten—the big one-oh—he decides to throw a birthday party for himself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. Of course, things don’t work out as he plans. Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big one-oh . . . becomes the big OH-NO!?

This is a virtual event, open for viewing anytime between November 19th at 5pm, and November 21st at midnight.

    - Dental, vision and mental health services
    - Veterans who need glasses will receive a free pair
    - V.A. Eligibility Enrollment with a copy of your DD214
    - Presentations from multiple veterans' associations, agencies and departments
    - Military gear including a new pair of boots (Veterans only)
    - Clothing donations
    - Food donation
    - Free hot lunch

To qualify for these services, you must provide proof of being a Veteran prior to the event.  Plumas and Sierra County Veterans will have priority.

If you need a DD214, or have moved to Plumas County and have not updated your address, please contact the Plumas County Veterans Services Office.
