Digital Marketing Hour: Returning to Sell at Festivals, Fairs and Shows

For many business owners, attending festivals, fairs and shows as a vendor is an important way to generate sales and grow a customer base.  However the impacts of COVID-19 made vending at these large-scale events difficult or impossible. Luckily, a number of shows are starting to return in 2021 and are beginning to offer vending opportunities again.  How prepared are you to return face-to-face?  Do you have a plan of how to best let your festival and fair customers know you are returning and ready to sell?  During this hour, we will outline a strategy of how to use all of digital marketing tools for promoting when and where you will be, share a checklist for making sure you are prepared  for safe face-to-face vending and sharing tips for returning stronger in 2021/2022.

The Startup Lunch & Learn: The Startup Business Plan

From the Sierra SBDC & the Placer Business Resource Center: The Startup Lunch and Learn Series features three, fast-paced workshops that cover the most important three topics for aspiring and new entrepreneurs to know. The Startup Lunch and Learn series will introduce new and existing entrepreneurs to essential information for business planning, financial management and funding.

Session One: The Startup Business Plan – The old idea of a 25-page written business plan does not work in today’s dynamic startup environment. Entrepreneurs don’t have the time to write it and funders don’t have the time to read it. Today’s entrepreneurs need a way to create a roadmap for their business that is quick, efficient and effective. One that provides a solid roadmap for the future for themselves and potential funders. The Startup Business Plan workshop will introduce entrepreneurs to a new way of business planning – one that focuses on identifying the key areas that need to be planned in order to create a successful business. In this workshop you’ll learn about the importance of business planning, understand the most critical topics to address in a business plan and see best of class examples of great startup plans.
