Stargazing has been rescheduled to tonight, January, 2, 6:30 p.m. at Prairie Rose State Park, 680 RD M47, Harlan. We will meet in the west campground, near site 85 and walk out on to the dam to get away from as much light as possible. We will be using a green laser pointer, which looks like it touches the stars, to identify stars, constellations, and planets. Winter is a great time to learn about the stars. The low humidity makes objects much more visible. Please dress for the weather. If it is mostly cloudy or completely cloudy, we will postpone it to a later date.

The Museum of Danish America is pleased to host Ben Champion, a young composer and pianist from Audubon County, for a recital on the Victor Borge Piano at 2 p.m. on January 5 at 2212 Washington Street, Elk Horn, IA 51531. Admission is free for members. Admission is $5.00 for those attending who’d like see the museum in addition to attending the concert.
