This introductory course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately. The Pistol Precision course is designed for those who have been shooting for a while but need to learn how to be more accurate. Dynamic Combative Solutions-AZ CCW 6hr Class (East Valley)

During this 6-hour non-shooting course we will review the basic components of legal Concealed Carry Weapons, mental awareness, interactions with law enforcement and how to properly plan for before and after a self-defense conflict. All necessary paperwork will be provided and your application and fingerprint cards will be completed during class. Following the completion of the course, you will be able to submit your completed packet to DPS for a Concealed Weapons Permit issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Tolleson Community Expo

The City of Tolleson is pleased to announce its annual Tolleson Community Expos scheduled for November 2.  The Expo will take place at Veterans Park and feature
      booths that are focused on health information and services for the entire family.
     The Pet Health part will have booths with pet information and services along with           rescue organizations for adoptions.
 
Event Features:
 
  • Pet Expo includes Chihuahua and Weiner Dog Races, Big Dog Races contest and Cutest Pet Photo contest. Pet vendors and rescue organizations will be onsite.. Free Spay and Neuter for Cats and Dogs (call 623-474-3877 for reservations. (Cost for meds and collar if needed), Low cost vaccines, rabies and microchipping, and much more. All pets must be on a leash.
Also interactive activities with alligators, lizards and more.

Holster Fundamentals builds upon the skills found in the Precision Pistol course. This course focuses on precision and speed from the holster. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target. Our goal is to get you down to 1.5 seconds before end of class.

Centennial Celebration in Litchfield Park

November 3rd marks 100 years since the cornerstone at Thomas Mission Church was dedicated. This event will have historical and cultural exhibits, activities, and performances including Dia de los Muertos displays, dance performances by Ballet Folklorico Esperanza, stories, face painting, and crafts. Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certifications and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:
  • Proper methods to draw from Concealment (Strong Side)
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Advanced reloading techniques, advanced malfunction clearances
  • Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

Help honor our Veterans and their families with a Fitness Challenge and Hero’s Breakfast at Estrella Mountain Community College. Benevilla Caregiver Connect Event

Benevilla is excited to announce their third “Caregiver Connect” event of 2019 will be held in Sun City November 15, 2019. This free educational event provides family caregivers with support and guidance to assist them on their caregiving journey. The Benevilla Caregiver Connect event will be held Friday, November 15th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bellevue Heights Church at 9440 W. Hutton Drive, Sun City, 85351.
 
Brian Brown, Dementia Care Education President, will be the Keynote Speaker.  The title of his presentation is “Aging in America: Taking Care of an Older Population.”  Mr. Brown is an expert in dementia care education and training with more than 20 years of experience in Alzheimer’s and dementia research, healthy aging and cultural competency.
 
Mr. Brown is a career and technical education advisor for two area school districts and serves on the leadership councils of both the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium and the Alzheimer’s Association. In addition, he serves on the boards of the Arizona Foundation for Eye Health and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 
 
The event will highlight an option between two additional, exciting presentations.  “Dementia Friends: Changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia”  by Janice Greeno, Outreach Manager from Banner Sun Health Research Institute, and “Making Strides Against Parkinson’s Research Matters” by Dr. David Shprecher, DO, MS the Movement Disorders Program Director from Banner Sun Health Research Institute will both be available to attend. Family caregivers can get their pressing questions answered and collect free resources from many of our community senior care providers.  A Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Resource Specialist will also be on-site for anyone needing one-on-one support.  At the last event, 50 local senior services providers were on hand to supply critical caregiver information to the attendees.  They also offer expert advice and direction on a myriad of topics including senior living options, home care choices, insurance alternatives, elder law and help with government programs.
 
Benevilla has been helping family caregivers since 1981 when they started their very first crisis counseling service.  “The Benevilla founders were aware family caregivers were bearing a heavy burden when caring for their loved ones often neglecting their own health” says Benevilla President and CEO, Joanne Thomson. “Today, 30-60% of caregivers pass away from illnesses related to caregiver stress before the person they are caring for. That’s why getting family caregivers support and information is crucial for our aging communities and their families.”

Fighting Rifle III is our final segment designed for individuals utilizing the carbine for protection inside or outside the home. This class introduces movement while re-enforcing your previously learned skills. Your home presents unique challenges with small rooms, hallways and multiple entry points. The Holocaust and Its Memory

Dr. Albrecht Classen, a University of Arizona distinguished professor of German Studies, will give a talk about the Holocaust and its legacy. The presentation will examine how an event widely considered the worst crime ever committed against humankind has been the foundation of tremendous growth and evolution, explore the way in which different peoples have kept its memory alive, and reflect on how the development of past events in Germany informs the present and future.

Dynamic Combative Solutions-AZ CCW 6hr Class (East Valley)

During this 6-hour non-shooting course we will review the basic components of legal Concealed Carry Weapons, mental awareness, interactions with law enforcement and how to properly plan for before and after a self-defense conflict. All necessary paperwork will be provided and your application and fingerprint cards will be completed during class. Following the completion of the course, you will be able to submit your completed packet to DPS for a Concealed Weapons Permit issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Dynamic Combative Solutions - Holster Fundamentals

Holster Fundamentals builds upon the skills found in the Precision Pistol course. This course focuses on precision and speed from the holster. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target. Our goal is to get you down to 1.5 seconds before end of class.
Focus areas within this course include:
  • Proper methods to draw from the holster
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Appropriate sight picture at various target distances
