23rd Annual TOUCH-A-TRUCK Day at Meadow Wood Sports Complex, Woodland Park. Wednesday, August 9th 10:00am – 12:00pm, FREE  event!

Kids come climb and crawl on more than 20 big trucks and emergency vehicles. Vehicles you can expect to experience are Fire Engines, Ambulance, Dump Trucks, Snow Plow, Street Sweeper, Police Car, Back Hoe, School Bus and more.

Early Explorers & Military in Pikes Peak

The Spanish were among the earliest European explorers of Colorado as they searched unsuccessfully for gold. With the Louisiana Purchase, the US Army was sent to explore and map the new purchase, with ongoing exploration by the mountain men, and government mapping in search of a route for the railroads to California. Quilts in the Aspens Quilt Show

Quilters Above the Clouds Quilt Guild is excited to present the 17th Annual “Quilts in the Aspens” Quilt Show on August 12, 2023, from 9 am - 4 pm. The quilt show will be held at the Woodland Park Middle School, 600 E. Kelly's Road, Woodland Park, CO. Visitors can expect to see the quilt voted Best of Show in 2022, quilts of all sizes and styles, quilts for sale, quilting demonstrations, and quilted items for sale in the Boutique. Back by popular demand, are the vintage quilts featured at the “Bed Turning” and the “Sew-n-Go” booth is available for all visitors to piece a quilt block and take home a potholder. Each visitor may cast their ballot for their favorite item in each category. Categories featured are Small, Medium, and Large Bed quilts; Small and Large Wall hangings; Art, Etc., From Past to Present, Youth, Challenge quilts and Charitable Causes quilts.

Quilters Above the Clouds is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is promoting an interest in and appreciation of the art of quilting, share quilting information and education, sponsor local and nationally known speakers and provide workshops to encourage high standards of quilting techniques and designs, encourage creativity, and provide hand-crafted quilts to area non-profit agencies and individuals in need. The charity mission of Quilters Above the Clouds is to assist the community by utilizing the talents of our members to create quilts and related items for those in need and to donate these items to non-profit agencies throughout Teller and Park Counties.
