Class Description: Mysticism has a long history in our Christian heritage. The mystical experiences of many saints are well documented. However, mystical experience is very personal and extremely intimate. Each mystic has his or her own story and lived in a particular time and place. Each mystic has very special encounters with God which we are privileged to share. Befriending the Mystics is designed to give participants a chance to peek in on the mystical experience of a variety of people throughout history. Each session will include prayer, a presentation on a particular mystic and sharing the mystic’s writings.

2018-19 will feature St. Francis of Assisi, St. Therese of Lisieux, Raimon Panikkar and many more.

Chamber Networking Breakfast - 11/1/18

Join Us for Breakfast!

Networking Breakfasts take place the first and third Thursday of every month in the Chamber of Commerce Community Room from 7:30-9:00 AM. Listen to 10-minute informative talks from two fellow members. Meet and mingle with other business people over a tasty breakfast provided by the speakers. Everyone gets 30 seconds to introduce themselves and tell what's up in their business.

Annual membership is $40 and Chamber membership is required.

You must register in advance to attend, walk-ins are not allowed. If you are bringing a guest, they too must register.

Pathways to Peace Program

What is a monastery?

Do nuns still wear habits?

What exactly do they do all day?
 

Come learn more about life in a modern day monastery. Hear about current programs and ministries. Tour the monastery and meet the prioress. Find out how you can get more involved at Benet Hill Monastery.

 

These regular, one-hour introductory tours are held every other month at the monastery and are designed to share the mission, ministries, and values of the Benedictine Sisters with guests. Come learn more about current activities, enjoy delicious baked goods.

Guests are welcome to come to any of the sessions, held on the second Thursday every other month. All events are from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
