Open to the public and all ages. Learn the rules of the water and other helpful safety tips for boat owners and non-owners, water skiers, and operators of Personal Watercraft (jet skis) and Paddlecraft (canoes, kayaks, paddle boards).
Taught by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the class includes topics on safely operating a boat, Personal Watercraft or Paddlecraft, trailering a boat, life jackets, boating emergencies, Federal and State of Michigan boating laws and regulations, and water skiing.
Passing the test at the end of the class will result in your obtaining the Michigan DNR Boater Education Card, required by law for all PWC operators born after 1978 and boat operators born after June 1996.
