MEDIA ADVISORYBuckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Invites the Media to Our Drowning Drill
The Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department invites the media to a Drowning Drill where our Union Members and Cadets will be Bar-B-Queuing hot dogs, hosting CPR demonstrations and performing a live Drowning Drill.
The Drowning Drill will re-enact a child (mannequin) going into cardiac arrest. This drill will go through the stages of a rescue as lifeguards are the first line of treatment, who are then assisted by Buckeye Fire and Buckeye Valley Fire personnel. A helicopter will land on site, which will re-enact the patient being transported to the hospital.

WHAT: Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue is partnering with Buckeye’s Community Services Department and the Buckeye Valley Fire District and hosting a Drowning Drill
WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 2023 from noon to 3 p.m.
- Noon to 2 p.m.: BBQ and CPR classes
- 2 p.m.: Drowning Drill starts

The Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department provides fire protection and advanced life support care for the city of Buckeye. We are a full-time organization serving the community from six fire stations with more than 100 department members.

Summer Fencing Camp
This camp will develop a basic knowledge of the sport of fencing. Students will learn elementary footwork and bladework; gain an understanding of fencing strategies and rules. All fencing equipment is provided.
Camp takes place at the Sundance Recreation Center June 12 - 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. Camp open to anyone ages seven and up.
