NEW at the market this year:
Shop your favorite vendors at the Iowa Food Hub’s online farm stand Sunday-Thursday for Saturday curbside pickup: https://iowa-food-hub.myshopify.com/.

In light of COVID-19 public health concerns, the market will take special safety precautions and strongly encourage the public to do the same.

The Farmers market will:
- Provide hand sanitizing stations at entrances to the market
- provide extra spacing between stalls to promote social distancing
- provide an opportunity to purchase a mask (by donation-proceeds go to the volunteer Seamsters Union of Winneshiek County)
- All vendors will be wearing masks (probably smiling underneath of them, happy to see you out at the market!)

Attendees of the market will be asked to:
- Maintain proper physical distancing of 6 feet
- Wear a face mask or shield. Face masks will be available by donation, thanks to the Seamster’s Union of Winneshiek County.
- Send only 1 person per household to shop when possible
- Leave pets at home or in the car
- Try to bring exact change or small bills to minimize money-handling
- Take all food to-go

For this month’s energy lunch, we’ll be digging into some exciting updates in the world of energy policy.  We’re happy to have Kerri Johannsen of the Iowa Environmental Council and Steve Falck of the Environmental Law and Policy Center join WED’s Andy Johnson for an online panel discussion of hot-button policy issues.
The panelists will touch on federal, state, and possibly local clean energy issues, and do their best to answer your questions. Important issues at the state level right now include solar net metering and tax credits, utility shutoff protections for vulnerable communities during the pandemic, and the need for reforms to recent legislation around electric vehicles and energy efficiency.

This event is free and will be hosted via Zoom.   Register at energydistrict.org/breakfast

Third Ossian Main Street Summer Story Walk features "Peanut Butter and Cupcake". The purpose of the story walk is to encourage reading, get children outside, and provide a great learning experience for children and their family members and to have fun! Children and their families go along the story walk reading pages from the story at selected locations.

The third Ossian Main Street Summer Story Walk will feature the book "Peanut Butter and Cupcake" by Terry Border.  This story walk, sponsored by Becker Hardware, features the adventures of a little piece of bread who's feeling lonely. When you feel lonely, what do you do?  The answer is to find a friend, of course! And that's what Peanut Butter tries to do, Sometimes friends are hard to come by, especially when Hamburger has to walk his (hot) dogs, Cupcake is too busy building castles in her sprinkle box, and Egg laughs so hard he starts to "crack up". Does Peanut Butter have a soul mate?  Go on the third Summer Main Street Story Walk and find out.

The story walk will be held on Friday, July 31 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. and begin at the corner of Mary Street and Main Street, across from the Ossian Post Office, and end up at the Ossian Community Center.  Balloons will mark the story book route.  Pages of the story are in the flower pots along Main Street. Children are encouraged to stop at each flower pot and read the story of "Peanut Butter and Cupcake". The story walk book will remain in the flower pots along Ossian Main Street for two weeks.
