Come join in the festivities of our 21st Annual Tweeds Holiday Home Tour! We will have several beautifully decorated venues in the Greater Ute Pass area for you and your family to enjoy.  Eat, drink and be merry while you are dazzled by the beautiful Christmas decorations and unique features of each venue.
Saturday, December 7, 2019 - Sunday, December 8, 2019
The 21st Annual Holiday Home Tour “Sounds of the Season” graciously presented by Tweeds Fine Furnishings, will take place in Teller County on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th from 10am to 5pm each day.

The 2019 Tour features a unique array of beautifully decorated homes located in the Woodland Park area. The festivities also include live musical entertainment featuring choirs, a harpist, soloists and large ensemble groups. For your shopping pleasure, there will be an Artisan Boutique at the Hospitality House.
"Every year the Tour inspires visitors to 'oh' and 'ah' at the decorations, and is the creative motivator for many to gather their decorating ideas,” says Karolyn Smith, Tour Director. In addition, each location will share a collectible recipe card for a delicious holiday treat that is significant to each home and participant.
“The venues on our Tour this year are as beautiful and welcoming as the home-owners themselves.  There is a newly constructed assisted living home, lovely custom-appointed homes and a community center where Mr. and Mrs. Claus will greet children, young and old, along with cooking demonstrations and electric trains sure to entertain them," said Karolyn Smith. “This Tour would not be possible without all of our gracious residents who are willing to open their homes and businesses, the volunteers who help decorate and host in each location, and of course, the generous financial donations from our many supporters throughout the community."
Feedback from last year’s Tour included comments like "We come to the Tour every year, and every year our expectations pale in comparison to the experience your group delivers."; "My friends and I love this event for the Christmas spirit it brings, and the music is just the icing on the cake."; and "How will you top this next year?".
Guests of the Tour are invited to begin at the Holiday Hospitality House, located in the Keller Williams Clients Choice Realty office, at 107 Sundial Drive, on the lower level.  Tour guests can shop at the Artisan Boutique for souvenirs and Christmas gifts, in addition to enjoying homemade treats.
In addition to our presenting sponsor, Tweeds Fine Furnishings, other sponsors include Carter Realty; Keller Williams Clients’ Choice; KKTV 11; The Independent; Kelley & Chulick, CPAs; Pikes Peak Courier; Pikes Peak Regional Medical Center Association; Bob & Lori Schleicher on behalf of Forest Ridge Senior Living; and the Swiss Chalet Restaurant.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit four local non-profits: Focus on the Forest, Community Cupboard of Woodland Park, Friends of Mueller State Park, and Choices. Further details about the event may be found at www.wphht.com or by calling 719-687-1115.

The 31st annual LSOC parade will be held this year on Saturday, December 7th at 6 pm, followed by a fireworks display in beautiful downtown Woodland Park, Colorado.

2019 THEME: “Woodland Park’s Christmas Vacation”

This year we are celebrating the 31st Anniversary of the Lighter Side of Christmas Parade and the 30th anniversary of the classic comedy film, National Lampoon’s “Christmas Vacation.” As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly. His hick cousin, Eddie (Randy Quaid), and his family show up unplanned and start living in their camper on the Griswold property.

Our goal is to have fun, let our imaginations run wild, and have the best event EVER in our community. What’s the plan for your Christmas vacation?? Remember, this is the LIGHTER Side of Christmas … Have fun! 🙂

2019 BENEFICIARY: Woodland Park Main Street

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Woodland Park Main Street. Woodland Park Main Street is part of a nationwide movement striving to revitalize historic buildings, foster community among businesses, and create a place where people feel connected. WPMS does not build, buy or finance new development. They are contributors.

Through their status as a Designated Main Street organization, they have access to grant monies for historic preservation and downtown revitalization. Their goal is to work in collaboration with key partners and organizations in planning for the future of downtown Woodland Park. Their army of volunteers help make it all possible!

The Woodland Park Wind Symphony presents “Sounds of Christmas.”
Sunday, December 8, 2019
6pm – “Meet the Musicians” reception and cash bar
7pm – Concert
Guest Artists – Mountain Eire Irish Dancers
Start your Christmas season with the powerful and beautiful sounds of Christmas performed by the 60-member Woodland Park Wind Symphony.  Meet the musicians, dancers and friends during the reception from 6-7pm, purchase a glass of wine and enjoy appetizers provided by the members.
At 7pm, put your worries away, relax and listen to the beautiful sounds of Christmas.
A special performance will be the Mountain Eire Irish Dancers on stage as the Woodland Park Wind Symphony performs “Celtic Carol.”
With a percussion equipment purchase program successfully completed, the Woodland Park Wind Symphony will honor the members and donors as they perform on the percussion equipment they purchased.  Many of the donors are not percussionists and they will have great fun playing their drum, timpani, gong, chimes, cymbals, triangles and wind chimes!  Plaques for the large percussion equipment are provided by Fred Clifford, Cedar Mountain Metal Craft.
There are no tickets to purchase for this special community event.  Donations are welcome to help the Woodland Park Wind Symphony continue to operate and grow.  Sponsorships are also available.  For additional information and to see what an extraordinary organization it is, please visit www.woodlandparkwindsymphony.com.  Director Craig Harms can be reached via the website and also by phone at 719-687-2210.
