On April 3rd, long-time Victor resident and retired miner, Gary Horton will give an interesting and informative presentation on the Woods Investment Company and the impact “spare no expense” and “don’t spread too thin” had on the history of Victor, Colorado.
Gary Horton has lived and worked in Victor most of his adult life and has a keen interest and understanding of the history of the Cripple Creek District.
The Cripple Creek District Museum invites you to learn more about the Woods Investment Company and the birth of Victor, Colorado on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2pm. The talk will be held at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center, 283 S Hwy-67, Cripple Creek CO. This program is presented as a public service of the Cripple Creek District Museum in partnership with the City of Cripple Creek. Reservations are recommended. Refreshments will be served. Join the Woodland Park Wind Symphony as they perform music from their concert which will be presented at the Association of Concert Bands Convention in Santa Fe on May 5.
“Selected to perform at the Association of Concert Bands annual convention in May 2022 is a distinct honor for our musicians and highlights our community,” says Director Craig Harms.
Enjoy the powerful and emotional music which the Woodland Park Wind Symphony will be performing at the Convention: Forever Holding Close the Memories; I Dreamed a Dream featuring vocalist Judith Mayer; Edgemont Festival Overture; Concertino, featuring flautist Treese Kjeldsen; By Loch and Mountain, featuring Baritone Paul Frampton; Night in Mexico; Bullets and Bayonets; and Silverado.
The Wind Symphony is grateful for the support of our community and the concert will provide an opportunity for our supporters to financially help us make our trip.
