KIRKSVILLE - The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce is
pleased to offer to the voting citizens of the community an opportunity to learn more about the candidates
running for the office of State Senate of the 18th District. This race will be determined in the November
8th election.

The two candidates are incumbent Cindy O’Laughlin, Republican, and her Democratic opponent, Ayanna
Shivers. Both have been invited to participate in a virtual forum at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, October 18,
2022. The forum will be recorded and shared on the Chamber’s Facebook page,
https://www.facebook.com/KirksvilleAreaChamberofCommerce and on the Chamber’s website at
www.kirksvillechamber.com .

♦️♣️UNITED WAY TO HOLD TEXAS HOLD’EM POKER TOURNAMENT OCTOBER 19TH♠️♥️
The United Way of Northeast Missouri (UWNEMO) will hold their semi-annual Texas Hold’em tournament Fundraiser, Wednesday, October 19th on the second floor of the Dukum Inn in downtown Kirksville.
Registration for the tournament will start at 5:30 p.m. The first hand will be dealt at 6:30 pm. Initial buy-in is $25 per person with buy back options available. $850 in guaranteed cash prizes await the first, second and third place finishers. 1st Prize is $500 plus a Texas Hold’em Trophy, 2nd Place is $250 and 3rd Place is $100. All proceeds will go to benefit the United Way’s eleven agencies.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME DRIVE 

The Kirksville Kiwanis Club is hosting a Halloween Costume Drive to provide costumes to local children who may otherwise not have costumes. We are accepting new as well as used costumes and props left over from prior years for ages K-8.  Costumes can be dropped in drop-off boxes at the Adair County Public Library or YMCA.

Saturday, October 22 10:00 am– 1:00 pm  Costumes will be distributed, first coe, first served at the Adair County Public Library. No paperwork or income verification needed.
