After a two-year hiatus, we are excited to once again welcome family, friends, and visitors to the town that is all about the ‘Red, White, and BOOM!

For nearly 50 years the town of Graeagle and Mohawk Valley has been pleased to host a weekend of fun for the whole family.  We are ’small town proud’ and cordially invite you and your loved ones to join us as we bring back some of the events families have come to enjoy for decades.  A parade, fireman's pancake breakfast, kids’ games, local treats and goods, and the famous Graeagle fireworks are all part of this year’s celebration.

Through hard work, commitment, and the generosity of those who love Graeagle and its beautiful surroundings, we are able to make this historic event happen.  Please consider donating at the button below - the fireworks and events are 100% donation funded!

As the committee’s plans progress we will be updating our event’s schedule. Keep checking in here and follow us on Facebook.  We hope to see you there!

Free for all employers. In this one-hour webinar, CEA’s trusted legal partners Laura McHugh, and Christina Bucci Hamilton of Duggan McHugh Law Corporation, will cover key information on the Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) lawsuits that California employers should know in order to minimize their liability. PAGA is a California statute enacted in 2004 which allows an “aggrieved employee” to pursue civil penalties for wage and hour violations on behalf of the California Attorney General against their current or former employers. Based on a 2021 report by the CABIA Foundation, the average amount employers pay for PAGA lawsuits in court is $1.1 million. Prudent employers will stay on top of PAGA to minimize their wage and hour liability and avoid paying costly settlements and court-awarded verdicts.
During this webinar, Ms. McHugh & Ms. Bucci Hamilton will cover:

  •  What is PAGA?
  •  PAGA versus class actions: what’s the difference?
  •  Who are “aggrieved employees” for PAGA
  •  What to do if you receive a PAGA letter
  •  Curable PAGA offenses
  •  Common PAGA pitfalls for employers
  •  How the SCOTUS decision in Viking River Cruises, Inc. may affect future PAGA actions and arbitration agreements

Ms. McHugh has represented companies of all sizes in employment and labor law matters for over 25 years. She provides advice and counsel to employers, and defends employers in class and PAGA actions, as well as individual actions by employees. She has argued before the California Supreme Court and Third District Court of Appeal, obtaining precedential, published decisions. In 2018, she partnered with Jennifer Duggan to further the success of their women-owned Sacramento law firm.

Ms. Bucci Hamilton has been successfully representing employers in a variety of matters for the past nine years. She is well-versed in California and Federal employment laws and regularly counsels clients on wage and hour compliance, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, and others; including review and drafting of compliant policies, handbooks, and employee communications; counsel regarding employee discipline and termination; responding to EEOC/DFEH charges, as well as performing prompt, thorough, and neutral workplace investigations. She is a seasoned employment law litigator, with significant experience handling wage and hour class and PAGA actions, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims.

Free for all employers. California businesses face a higher risk of being sued by their employees when compared to the national average and employee lawsuits can be expensive, time-consuming, and disruptive to the business. Most employers would never intentionally violate employment laws. However, it’s easy to do if you’re not clear on the rules, rights, and obligations under the federal, state, or local laws. This presentation provides 10 tips and strategies to avoid costly employment lawsuits. It will also provide best practices to help you and your business stay compliant. In addition, this program will help you recognize the common actions that can give rise to liability including workplace investigations, misclassification, arbitration agreements, leave laws, wage and hour issues and more.

Presented by our legal partners Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin:
