Celebrate the Grand Reopening of the Children’s Department and the start of the Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 3. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Kickoff Party from 2-4 p.m. Check out the refreshed space, take a spin down the slide, and pick up your summer reading goodie bag (including mini LEGO kits, while supplies last). Extra swag for the first 500 guests! Let’s celebrate the start of summer at our community’s playground for curious minds.

Run for Your Buns is an annual 5K run/walk benefiting colon cancer prevention. Net proceeds will be donated to Altru Health Foundation to help uninsured and underinsured individuals pay for screening colonoscopies. Everyone is invited to join in on the 10th Annual and final Run For Your Buns 5K on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 8 a.m.! This family friendly race promotes health and fitness, while raising awareness for colon cancer screening. The event is held at Lincoln Park, with the race showcasing the Greater Grand Forks Greenway. Register online at altru.org/runforyourbuns

Join Valley Senior Living for the Looney Lutherans at Calvary Lutheran Church.  Enjoy a church basement style hotdish meal and the Looney Lutherans performance featuring resident performers from Valley Senior Living. Proceeds from this event support the music therapy program at Valley Senior Living.

Description:
Discover how to create a collaborative environment where everyone is responsible for design. You will go through design challenges and sprints that can be incorporated into any workplace or startup, to unlock creativity and innovative thinking.

In this session we’ll introduce:
• The principles of the design thinking process
• Applying the design thinking process to solve problems.
• The basics of prototyping your ideas
