Save Money with BizRecycling

Coffee, Breakfast & NETWORKING!
Key's Cafe - Upstairs conference room
2208 4th Street, White Bear Lake
Tuesday, April 2nd
7:30 - 9:00am

We will learn how to save money the easy way...Recycle! Most business owners are unaware of the hefty tax on their garbage. In Ramsey County, garbage service for businesses is taxed at 70%, and in Washington County, garbage service for businesses is taxed at 53%. Joel Anderson, Ramsey County BizRecycling will explain how easy it is to get started with or expand a business recycling program. Although there are a lot of compelling reasons for businesses to do a better job of recycling, one of the biggest incentives is the potential to save money. There are simple things businesses can do to reduce their garbage expenses.

Everyone will have an opportunity to market their business while enjoying a fantastic breakfast! The only cost to attend is for your breakfast. Please RSVP as space is limited.

Business connections are a valuable Chamber option. When Chamber members make business connections the entire community prospers.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Hog Wash
2180 7th Street, White Bear Lake
April 9th, 3:30pm

This will be a celebration of everything spring! Join us for a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration for Hog Wash! It is time to get the motorcycles out and ready for riding. Bring them to Hog Wash for a pass through the first touch-less motorcycle wash in America! We will be some of the first to see this amazing new machine, tour the whole facility and meet the owners and their detail team. Remember your business cards!

Hog Wash offers a tunnel car wash and a motorcycle wash as well as detailing services. We detail cars, motorcycles, buses, boats, and whatever fits in our two-story bays.
This spring, we will present a fully automatic touch-less motorcycle wash, like nothing seen in America. The upgrade is not a replacement to our current tunnel car wash but rather an addition to the wash.
Grand opening for the wash will be on April 9th (weather permitting).

The illusion of movement created from seemingly static objects is an element I am constantly striving to achieve in my work. Like the microscopic shifts in our human bodies to the cosmic movement of a galaxy, the parts of the whole are always in motion and that is what much of this body of artwork is focused around. Light and shadow and how those elements play off the colors, textures, and shapes within the finished piece are also part of my process. The artwork in this collection are my interpretations of color and composition of the natural world around me—some fantastic, and some grounded. These pieces connect something in my mind to the fascinating universe around us.

Artist Bio:
Kristina is a visual artist and performer and is drawn to creative projects that will combine both of these passions. She has exhibited her sculpture in venues around the Midwest and Twin Cities and was a recipient of a Jerome Fiber Artist Project Grant for 2010-11 at the Minnesota Textile Center.

Her performance work includes: The Theater of the Tiny Clandestines, Birds of Passage, and The Memory Box of the Sisters Fox with The Winding Sheet Outfit; Works In Progress My Life Is All But Over at the Red Eye Theatre; and 9 shows with Sandbox.

She recently installed a large fiber piece in the lobby of Canopy Hilton in downtown Minneapolis, which opens Spring 2019.

Kristina is a graduate of St. Catherine University with a Master of Arts in Education in both Art and Theater Education, an ensemble member of Sandbox Theatre and a founding member of The Winding Sheet Outfit. Much of her fiber work is represented by Gilded Pear Gallery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Current Project: Designer/Project Lead for The Golden Record Project with Sandbox Theatre April 12 - May 4, 2019.

What it Means for Employers

11:30am Registration | 12:00 - 1:15pm Program

Guest Speaker: Curtis Graves, Esq.
SPHR Colorado
Employer's Council
Moderated by Tom Hauser, KSTP TV
The legalization of recreational marijuana in Minnesota could   become a reality, as early as this year. While there are many social aspects to this debate, the issue that has hardly been discussed relates to the impact of marijuana usage on employee policies, overall employee productivity, and other factors affecting the workplace itself. Mr. Curtis Graves, Esp. SPHR, of the Colorado Employer’s Council will share insights on these, and other, topics that Colorado businesses have addressed since 2014 when marijuana became legal in their state. Moderated by Tom Hauser, KSTP TV.

The cost to attend this luncheon is $35 for Chamber Members and $45 for Non-Chamber Members. Space is limited and registration is required.
