Running with the Bears is Plumas County's brand new Boston Qualifier, and a fundraiser for foster children served by Mountain Circle Family Services. The Bears is a uniquely rural experience; goody bags, for instance, are filled with locally made products and, of course, bear bells! As runners cross the finish line, they’re greeted with an ice cold beer from a local brewery (UnderCoverAleWorks), and a massage with a view of the whole valley (juice, coffee, water and hydration drinks also available of course). It’s also one of few western races in August; higher elevations bring cooler temperatures- In 2011, the race-day low was 46 degrees, so be sure to bring your jacket! This event WILL sell out by early August, so please register early online at www.runningwiththebears.org

Come join us for the 5th Annual Courage Triathlon!  100% of the proceeds from this event go to the non-profit 501 (3) C organization COURAGE WORLDWIDE, who built a home for children right here in California rescued from sex trafficking.
After learning of the staggering lack of services for the victims of human trafficking right here in America, I vowed to do something.  So Joanne Vice and I created the COURAGE TRIATHLON to help bring awareness and funds to partner with COURAGE WORLDWIDE.  Our vision became that of many in the community of both Lassen and Plumas County.
Come run so they do not have to.  August 29, 2020 at the Plumas Pines Resort, Lake Almanor California.  You can participate in teams of three or individually.  It is a 2.8 mile run, 7.1 bike and a 4.1 mile kayak, all along the stunning shores of Lake Almanor.  If you feel that participating is not possible for you, register to volunteer or sponsor a team!  Everyone can DO SOMETHING to end the crime of human trafficking. Register for both at couragerun/triathlon.org or Visit www.courageworldwide.org and our Facebook page: Courage Triathlon, Lake Almanor, Ca for information, registration and to view over 3,000 pictures.
visit some local businesses and say hello to the proud sponsors of the Courage Triathlon,  Plumas Pines Resort, Lake Almanor Ca,  St. Bernard Lodge, Mill Creek Ca, Rusty Chandelier, Chester Ca, Chester Holiday Market, Chester Ca, Susanville IGA, Susanville Ca, Susan River Fire Department, Susanville Ca, California Corrections Supervisor Organization, Plumas Bank in Susanville, Ca, FWA Fire Water Supply, Redding Ca, High Sierra Fire, Janesville, Ca and Chester Plumas Bank.
We look forward to seeing you there.  Together we can end human trafficking! Come RUN SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO!
