Mural Bus Tour by Yehimi Cambrón Álvarez
On October 19th, Atlanta artist Yehimi Cambrón Álvarez is opening the doors to the narratives behind her murals through her first-ever public mural bus tour!
In the past, she has been hosted by Agnes Scott College and Emory University to guide bus tours of her public art for their respective school community. This time, she is curating and leading her own journey throughout the city, with ticket sales open to the public!
What You Get
The tour includes travel by bus, a gift set with a commemorative postcard set and other goodies from my shop, and a specially crafted lunch at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s Home Depot Backyard by Atlanta’s award-winning Chef Arnaldo Castillo, Owner and Executive Chef of Tio Lucho’s. Tio Lucho’s is listed in Bon Appétit’s 11 Best Restaurants in Atlanta Right Now and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Atlanta's 50 Best Restaurants!
Why This Tour Matters Right Now
For years, Yehimi has painted murals across Atlanta that serve as monuments to our Latine immigrant community. As attacks on these communities continue to escalate, she will celebrate the closing of this Latine Heritage Month by asserting and celebrating the presence of immigrant narratives through the stories that belong to a selection of her murals. Hear directly from the artist herself as she guides you on a journey throughout Atlanta—from her first mural on Buford Hwy to her murals in the heart of the city!
