The Show
This Quilt Show features the quilts, the quilters and the quilt guilds of the Middle Peninsula. Visitors will enjoy a wide variety of quilts, quilting techniques, fabrics and patterns! Along with beautiful quilts, guild members offer visitors interesting Demonstrations, Exhibits, Quilt Appraisals and several Local Quilt Shops will be on site. This show is held in Odd Numbered Years.
  • Friday, September 20 - Noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 21 - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Admission $3
  • This show is not juried. There are “Viewers Choice” awards only. Every visitor will receive a ballot. All ballots must be turned in by 2:00 pm on Saturday. Awards will be presented around 3:00 pm.
Quilt Appraisals
Lynne Wilder, certified quilt appraiser, will be available on Friday (Noon-4:00 pm) and Saturday (10:00 am-Noon and 1:00-3:00 pm) for appraisals. You may schedule a time with Mrs. Wilder at the show or ahead of time by contacting Debbie Dawson eastrvr@gmail.com
Written appraisals for antique, vintage or new quilts are $65.00 each. Oral appraisals for antique or vintage quilts only are $30.00 each. Cash or Check paid to Mrs. Wilder at the show. Appointments are approximately 30 minutes per quilt. Appraisals establish a replacement value for insurance purposes, establish a value for donation as required by IRS, determine Fair Market Value for sales, create a written record of a family heirloom and can accompany a quilt to be given as a gift.

The 24th Annual Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta will be held October 4th through the 6th on the Rappahannock River off Irvington and registration is now open for this beautiful race for classic sailboats.  Go to www.turkeyshoot.org for more information and to complete registration with a discount for early registration.  Entry is open to all, racers, cruisers and casual sailors and mono-hull boats of a design at least 20 years old.  Other land-based events are also open to the public, including Happy Hours, Dinner and music by the local band Deadrise on Oct. 5th. 
Named by the Chesapeake Bay Magazine as a Best of the Bay, this regatta is one of the largest in the Southern Bay, is the largest Hospice regatta in the US and raises funds for Hospice Support Services of the Northern Neck and Riverside Hospice Agencies serving the Gloucester and Tappahannock areas.
According to co-chairmen George Bott and Tom Chapman, this event is a combined effort of the Irvington community, the cited hospice services, the Rappahannock River Yacht Club, the Yankee Point Racing and Cruising Club and Rappahannock Yachts.  Mark your calendar and come join the fun!

The Seventh Annual "Taste by the Bay: wine, food, arts & ale" will be held on November 23rd, 2019 at the beautiful Tides Inn in Irvington, VA!

Save the date for the 7th Annual Chamber Wine Festival, Taste by the Bay...a showcase of regional Wine, Food, Arts & Ale!

The event, scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Tides Inn in Irvington, will feature samplings from local wineries and breweries, tastings from local restaurants, live music and artisans. You won't want to miss this great event!

Tides Inn is very excited to be hosting this event on their resort property and we hope you will take advantage of this picturesque setting and captive audience to showcase your goods! Make a full weekend of it and reserve a room in their deluxe accommodations! 

Like the wineries, area restaurants will be providing samples of favorite local eats, as well as selling other food items.
