The Pikes Peak Historical Society invites you to learn more about the Pony Express at the May 19 Chautauqua.  The fascinating story of the short-lived mail service will be presented by Ken Valles at 2:00 at the Lake George Charter School.  Included will be pictures and video clips of memorabilia, statues, museums, and many other related items.  Ken's personal collection will also be on display.  A colorful pictorial summary booklet will be available for a $15 donation.  Be sure to attend this historic adventure into the wild West and its Colorado connection!  Presented as a public service, this event is free and refreshments will be served.  No reservation is required.  For more information call 719-748-8259 or 719-748-3861.

Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1100 hours members of The American Legion's Eric V Dickson Post 1980 and VFW's Thomas E Kelly Post 6051 will place Flags on veterans graves at the Woodland Park and other nearby cemeteries.   Then on Memorial Day, May 27, at 1100 hours they will host a Memorial Day ceremony at a veteran's grave in the Woodland Park Cemetery.   Public is invited.

This is the 19th year of yhe City-Wide Garage Sale, which benefits the Woodland Park High School Key Club.
Each space is two individual parking spaces.  Individuals may sign up at Alpine Firearms, located at 102 W. Midland Avenue.  Cost per space is $18.00; checks may be made out to the WPHS-Key Club. Set-up is 5 am to 7 am in the parking lot of the Woodland Park High School.  The sale is from 7 am to 2 pm.

The LO2 (Low Oxygen) Music Festival is a one day live music festival on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Woodland Park, Colorado featuring music from the 60s 70s and 80s. 

Music will be outside at the Midland Pavilion, The Cultural Center will have indoor vendors and a classic rock “experience”. There will be multiple food, drink and other vendors in the upper lot and on Midland Avenue.

Ute Pass Historical Society offers FREE guided tours of History Park and the Walking Tour of downtown Woodland Park every Saturday this summer, beginning June 8th through August 31st (excluding Saturday, August 3rd).
The 90-minute Walking Tour of Downtown Woodland Park begins at 9:30 a.m., so please arrive at the UPHS Museum Center by 9:20 a.m.
The Museum Center is located at 231 E. Henrietta Avenue, next to the Woodland Park Public Library. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and a light sweater.
After the downtown walking tour, walk through the bygone days with Ute Pass Historical Society. The tour of the five buildings comprising History Park is at 11 a.m. Exhibits and contents have recently been refashioned so “come again for the first time!”
While at History Park, visit the Old Curiosity Gift Shop, which offers an extensive selection of books and unique gift items. The Gift Shop is located in the Museum Center and is open year-round, Wednesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At this fun camp, everybody gets a real field journal, a set of drawing and painting tools to keep, and a lot of open space to observe and record our natural surroundings in a creative and engaging way. Attention will be given to the connection between art and biology, and all art materials are included.
