The Northern Neck Orchestra’s 2025-2026 Chamber Music Series begins on September
7, 2025 with two string trios by a youthful Ludwig van Beethoven that reflect the delicacy of the
Classical period with a hint of the passionate intensity of the composer’s later works.
The concert at Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Good Luck Road in Kilmarnock, at 2:00 p.m.
features Beethoven’s String Trio No. 1 in E-flat major and String Trio No. 2 in G major and will
be performed by Moises Cunha, violin, Amelia Clingman, viola and Jake Fowler, cello.
Tickets for the performance are $35.00. Season tickets for the four-concert chamber
music series are $112.00. Tickets may be purchased online at www.northernneckorchestra.org
or at the door. Students are admitted free with an online reservation.

LCL Poetry Class Starts September 15

The Lancaster Community Library is presenting a 6 part poetry class for beginners starting on September 15. Dee’s Attic volunteer Sunni Southward is the class organizer. She will be the instructor for the first three sessions in September. Three different instructors will lead the October sessions. The book Come! Write A Poem With Me! by Marilyn Brodhurst is the guide for the series.

Classes will run from 6 to 7:30pm, with 3 Monday sessions on September 15, 22 and 29, followed by 3 Thursday sessions on October 9, 16, and 23.

Registrations must be completed by September 8 and the class is limited to 10 people. “This is a great opportunity to delve into the adventure of writing poetry,” said Sunni Southward. “Students should bring their beginner’s mind and should allow their creative selves some new avenues for self expression, and definitely enjoyment.”
